Denver Nuggets at San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs will look for their 10th straight win when they host the Denver Nuggets tonight, who are looking to spoil the streak and win their fourth straight game at the AT&T Center. These two teams faced off last week, and it came right down to the wire, as Carmelo Anthony’s game winning shot was called off because of an offensive foul, and the Spurs took home a 113-112 win. The Spurs hold the NBA’s best record at 24-3, and are looking for their second 10-game winning streak this season. Denver has been up and down lately, going just 3-4 in their last seven. Our spreads indicate that the the Spurs are favored by 7-points over the Nuggets at home.

This could be a much different Denver team than the one we saw face the Spurs last week, as the Nuggets could be getting back Chauncey Billups, Chris Anderson, and Kenyon Martin. Anderson and Martin are both game-time decisions, while Billups is expected back in the lineup. If Martin is able to play, this would be his first game of the season.

The Nuggets are not happy with how things ended last week against the Spurs, and seem to be coming into this game with a high level of intensity. Anthony had a game-high 31 points to go along with nine rebounds and three assists against the Spurs, and is going to need to have another big game for the Nuggets to be a very good San Antonio team.

It doesn’t seem to matter who San Antonio plays or what night the game is on, they just simply find a way to win the game. The Spurs have won their last four games by a combined 17 points, so it’s not as if they are just blowing everyone out. The Spurs have been getting more production out of Tim Duncan lately, as he comes in averaging 20 points and nearly 14 rebounds in his last three games.

Two of the Spurs three losses this season have came at home, and with the success that Denver has had playing at San Antonio lately, I think they are great play at +7 in this game, as they could easily win this game outright. This is the Spurs fifth game in the last eight days, while its only the third game for the Nuggets in that same time span.
