Oregon State vs. Oregon Football Betting Odds & Spread

Now the Oregon State Beavers might only be ranked #21 in the nation at 8-3, but if this team can hold off the 8-3 No. 24 ranked Oregon Ducks at home this weekend, they will be the Pac 10 Champions and playing in the Rose Bowl ahead of USC, which is really something after so many thought the win of USC was a fluke. Last week the Beavers barely kept the Rose Bowl hopes alive, as it squeaked by Arizona on the road 19-17. The Ducks last game also came against the Wildcats a couple weeks ago, and they too came out on top 55-45, so there is no doubt this should be one heck of a football game. Now if you are looking to bet on college football this weekend, the oddsmakers have Oregon State 3 point favorites at home over the Ducks at BetUS.com
The Ducks could actually wind up finishing 2nd in the Pac 10 with a win this weekend, but crushing their in state rivals shot at a BCS Bowl game is something you know is on their minds. In their last game against Arizona the Ducks jumped out to a huge lead, as they had 45 points by half, and were able to pretty much cruise to a win in this one. Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli threw for a career high 298 yards, and was in on 5 of Oregon’s touchdowns, as he threw for 2 scores and ran for 3 more, including a 66 yard run to put the Ducks on the board first. Now the Beavers play some pretty solid defense, so its hard to imagine this unit having another start like that this week.
The Ducks defense also got in on the fun against the Wildcats, as Patrick Chung took an interception 31 yards to the house, but this defense was on the field a lot thanks to the offense scoring so quickly, and it started to show late when the Wildcats put 21 points up in the 4th quarter. Arizona actually out gained the Ducks 527 to 504, but this game was over from the get go. If they want to pull off the upset this week, they can’t let the Beavers put those kind of yards up, as its unlikely they replicate their offensive explosion. Bet Oregon +3 at BetUS.com
Oregon State comes into this one winners of 6 straight, and their only conference loss game at Stanford back in the first week of the season. Now one interesting thing to think about is if Oregon State wins this week, it means they will meet Big 10 Champions, Penn State, who actually beat up on the Beavers earlier this season 45-14. Now we believe this team has improved a lot since those first couple weeks of the season, and it all comes down to just one game this weekend against the Ducks. In their last game against the Arizona they didn’t have the offense outburst like the Ducks, but were able to rack up 390 yards, as James Rodgers had 102 yards on 10 carries with a score, while quarterback Sean Canfield threw for 224 yards and a 7 yard strike to Sammie Stroughter, who had a 116 yards receiving on the day. It going to be interesting to see just how this offense comes out in one of the biggest games in school history.
The Oregon State defense also, has quite the game ahead of them, as this defense has been the reason for the turnaround this season, as they have held opponents to less than 20 points in 4 of their 6 games, and though they let the Wildcats score 14 in 2nd half last week, they were good enough to get the win. Now stopping the Ducks will not be easy, as any team that can throw up 45 before half, usually has the ability to make the big play, so if this team can just keep the Ducks from scoring quick they should be headed to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl.
