This year the Patriots Colts game, isn’t going to have that extra amount of attention following it this year, as the Patriots don’t have their star quarterback Tom Brady, and the Colts Peyton Manning continues to look little like the Manning we are use to. Now the Patriots actually have the better record at 5-2, while the Colts fight to stay alive in the playoff race at 3-4. Now this one is in Indy so you would expect the Colts to come out ready to go, and the oddsmakers think just that as Indianapolis comes in 6 point favorites over the Patriots at Bookmaker.com
The Patriots come into this one winners of two straight, and with a win this week and a Bills loss, the Pats could be back in first alone in the AFC East. Last week against the Rams Randy Moss looked more like the guy we are use to seeing, as he grabbed 7 balls for 102 yards. Matt Cassel didn’t have his best day throwing 2 interceptions and just 1 touchdown, but he got the team the win and thats all that really matters. The running game wasn’t much of anything going for just 98 yards, and that should increase this week going against a pretty weak Colts rush defense.

The Pats defense really has to be given some credit for stopping the Rams, as they had pulled off back to back wins of the Cowboys and Redskins the previous two weeks. One concern is Marc Bulger threw for 301 yards and a score, and if they let Manning get going that number could easily get up around 400. We expect the Colts to test this defense deep and see if they can’t exploit their lack of speed on this side of the ball. Bet Patriots +6 at Bookmaker.com
Now its hard telling what we can expect out of the Colts offense this week, as they looked like they were going to go into Tennessee and give the Titans their first loss, but a normally good offense down the stretch failed to make the big play when it needed. Manning threw 2 more interceptions and now has just 10 touchdowns to 9 interceptions. Manning will get better, but its just a matter of if it will be too late for this team to even matter. The Colts do expect Jospeh Addai back in the backfield, and that could really help this offense out against the Pats this weekend.
The Colts defense didn’t get good news this week in practice, as veteran corner Marlin Jackson suffered a serious knee injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season, but their is good news for this side of the ball as Bob Sanders is expected back on the field, and Dwight Freeney should be much better this week after really being limited last week. The Colts have to stop the run, as they can live with Cassel throwing the football. Bet Colts -6 at Bookmaker.com
