Philadelphia Eagles Schedule 2009

Written May 11, 2009 by Jack Jones

eagles-season-scheduleEver since the projected win totals for the 2009 NFL season were released, I’ve been waiting for a good time to take a look at the team schedules to see if I can find any weaknesses in the NFL betting odds.  I haven’t had a whole lot of time to break down the teams, so later this summer is when I’ll do my full predictions on each squad, but with the schedules released I felt like it was a good time to give some first impressions.  Today I’m going to focus on the Philadelphia Eagles, who are projected at 8.5 wins this year.  If you want to bet on that then BetUS is offering a $500 signup bonus for a $500 deposit for our readers!

The Philadelphia Eagles play four preseason games this year and all of them are on Thurday nights.  It gets started at home on August 13th when the team plays host to the New England Patriots, followed by a trip to Indianapolis to take on the Colts, then another home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on the 27th.  To finish off the preseason Philadelphia will head to the Meadowlands to take on the New York Jets on September 3rd.  If you are looking for 2009 Philadelphia Eagles tickets then check out StubHub!

Week 1 – Sunday, September 13th at the Carolina Panthers -It’s going to be tough going on the road and beating the Panthers, so I’ll mark this one as a loss.

Week 2 – Sunday, September 20th at home against the New Orleans Saints -Eagles at home in 2009 equals money to me against most teams.  Chalk this up as a win.

Week 3 – Sunday, September 27th at home against the Kansas City Chiefs -See above and then factor in who they are playing.  Big win here.

Week 5 – Sunday, October 11th at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers -I don’t think the Bucs have what it takes to win in Philadelphia here.

Week 6 – Sunday, October 18th at the Oakland Raiders -With a project 8.5 wins out of Philadelphia this year road wins will be hard to come by, but this is Oakland so I’ll take the Eagles.

Week 7 – Monday, October 26th at the Washington Redskins -Winning on the road in the division though?  That will take an upset so you have to go with Washington.

Week 8 – Sunday, November 1st at home against the New York Giants -The toughest home game on the slate, but this is a playoff caliber team so you have to think they will be a slight favorite on their home field against everyone.

Week 9 – Sunday, November 8th at home against the Dallas Cowboys -Same as above.  Take Philadelphia at home.

Week 10 – Sunday, November 15th at the San Diego Chargers -A playoff team from a year ago and the Eagles have to travel across country, most likely you’ll see them catching more than a field goal here.

Week 11 – Sunday, November 22nd at the Chicago Bears -Should be under a field goal underdog, but still not favorted to win.

Week 12 – Sunday, November 29th at home against the Washington Redskins – The Eagles will be laying 4-6 here so they should pick up the straight up victory.

Week 13 – Sunday, December 6th at the Atlanta Falcons -Can Atlanta repeat last year’s success?  The odds makers think so which means they will be favored at home here against the Eagles.

Week 14 – Sunday, December 13th at the New York Giants – Barring injuries, this game will see Philadelphia catching more points than in any other game.

Week 15 – Sunday, December 20th at home against the San Francisco 49ers -Expect seven points or so as the line on the Eagles so a likely win.

Week 16 – Sunday, December 27th at home against the Denver Broncos -Don’t give up on the Broncos just because they don’t have Cutler, but they still aren’t going to travel to the East Coast and win games.

Week 17 – Sunday, January 3rd at the Dallas Cowboys – Big game here to close out the season, but I can’t see the Eagles pulling it out.
