Preakness Stakes Winners

The Preakness Stakes, held each year at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland is the second leg of horse racing’s prestigious Triple Crown series (the other legs being the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes).

This is one of the biggest races in the world for three year old horses and is also one of the longest running races in the history of the sport.

The Preakness has been run on Pimlico’s dirt track at different distances over the years, but has been run at 1-3/16 miles since 1925.

This year’s Preakness Stakes, the 136th running of the event, is scheduled for Saturday, May 21st at 4:30 PM EST, with coverage by NBC Sports.
