Purdue at Ohio State Football Odds, Picks & Predictions

Purdue goes on the road to take on Ohio State in a key game for both teams. Despite their record of 2-3, Purdue is a still a capable and solid team. They have losses to two great teams in Oregon, which was an overtime game, and Penn State and lost a toss-up game on the road against Notre Dame. So in no way is this Boilermaker team bad. Ohio State is coming off a big win against Wisconsin, but once again their offense looked sloppy as they struggled to move the football. Ohio State as four wins against division one teams this year and has not won any of them by more than 19 points. Look for that to continue here even though the odds at BetUS show Ohio State as a 19-point favorite over Purdue.

Purdue has a very good running game led by Kory Sheets. Sheets has rushed for 498 yards and eight touchdowns this year, and is average a solid 5.4 yards per carry. As the underdog look for Purdue to run early and often and keep the game close and try to pull out the upset late in the game. The Purdue passing game has gotten off to a slow start, but look for Curtis Painter to find his 2007 form and have a solid game. Painter has played well in the past against the Buckeyes.

The Purdue defense has been solid so far this season. They faced a dual-threat quarterback in Daryl Clark and held him to just two yards on nine carries. Look for Pryor to have a tough time making big plays, as he is only averaging five yards per carry.
