49ers Rams Football

This Sunday the San Francisco 49ers and and St Louis Rams will do battle for the 2nd times this season, as both teams have struggled doing much of anything out of the NFC West this season. The 49ers come in at 5-9, as they had their short two game winning streak snapped last week against the Dolphins, as they fell 9-14 on the road. As for the Rams they blew a lead late and wound up losing to the Seahawks 20-23 at home. Now the first meeting between these two teams went to the 49ers, as San Francisco took home a 35-16 win. For those of you looking to do some NFL betting on the game this weekend, the oddsmakers have the 49ers 5.5 point favorites over the Rams at Bookmaker.com

This time around the 49ers will do battle with the Rams on their home field, but its hard to imagine that the outcome will be much different. The 49ers continued to play strong football, as they have been in all of their last 6 games. Last week against the Dolphins the 49ers racked up a good amount of yards, as Shaun Hill threw for 233 yards and DeShaun Foster filled in nicely for Frank Gore running for 76 yards on 18 carries, but all the offense could put on the scoreboard was 3 field goals. Now they are hoping to get Gore back in action this week, which should help things, and the not only did Gore run for two scores last time against the Rams, Hill had two touchdown tosses as well. Look for either Gore or Foster to have a big day against a very weak Rams defense.

The 49ers defense came to play last week on the road, and the fact that these guys continue to go out and give it their best with just a couple weeks to go before the end of the season, really lets you know this team is headed in the right direction. Now the defense allowed just two early Dolphins touchdowns, but really never could make the big plays in this one, as they had zero turnovers and just 2 sacks. Now expect those numbers to go up this week, as the 49ers had 2 interceptions last time against Marc Bulger and the Rams. Bet San Francisco 49ers -5.5 at Bookmaker.com

Now the Rams just keep losing, and though they played the Seahawks strong last week, this team is need of a win to give this football team some motivation that things are going to get better. The Rams have now loss 8 straight games, and last week they had 17-7 halftime lead that they were unable to hold on to. Bulger threw for 207 yards and a score, and Steven Jackson had a fine day on the ground running for 91 yards and a score, but they were unable to come out in the 2nd half and do much of anything when they needed to. Now its got to be nice to see Jackson back racking up the yards, but its just to much to ask for one guy to carry a team when the rest of the team pretty much stinks.

That includes the Rams defense that can’t keep anyone off the scoreboard this season, and last week when the defense was needed the most late in the game, they were unable to come up with the big stop. They allowed Seneca Wallace to throw for 226 yards on 15 of 25 passing, and let Maurice Morris run for 86 yards on 15 carries, while Olindo Mare kicked 3 field goals including the game winner with no time left on the clock. Now we know the Rams have been hurt by injuries this season, but this team needs to really get things figured out before next season. Bet St Louis Rams +5.5 at Bookmaker.com
