Will the St Louis Rams Draft a Quarterback at No.1?
Written March 8, 2010 by Jason Lowry
There is a lot of speculation that the St Louis Rams will draft a quarterback with the No.1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft, even though many experts are saying that the best available talent is defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy. While it will be hard to pass up on a guy like Suh or McCoy, that option just became a little bit easier, as ESPN is reporting that the Rams have signed veteran defensive tackle Fred Robbins.
There is no question that Rams need help at quarterback, but can this organization afford to be wrong by picking Sam Bradford or Jimmie Clausen with the first pick? I think that if the Rams are sold on a guy like Bradford or Clausen before the draft then they need to take him and hope for the best, but if they have any doubts that they will not be able to make it in the NFL, they should go with one of the top two defensive tackles, and maybe hope to get lucky enough to land Washington’s Jake Locker in the 2011 NFL draft. Either way the Ram’s No.1 pick figures to have a big impact on this teams NFL odds for some time to come.
