Cowboys Ravens Football

The NFL is giving fans yet another chance to catch a game this week, as the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens are set to do battle this Saturday on the NFL Network. And with both teams right in the middle of the playoff picture in both leagues, this one should be worth your time to watch. The Cowboys come into this one fresh off an impressive 20-8 win over the Giants, as they need to just keep on winning, while the Ravens lost a heartbreaker to the Steelers at home 13-6, and now are in a 3 way tie with the Patriots and Dolphins for the final playoff spot in the AFC. For those you looking to do a little NFL Betting this weekend, the oddsmakers have the Cowboys 4 point favorites at home over the Ravens at BetUS.com

Now the Ravens loss for just the 2nd time in 9 weeks, but if they don’t win this week against the Cowboys, there shot at a playoff birth could really look a lot worse if both the Dolphins and Patriots pull off a win this week. Last week against the Steelers it was a defensive showdown, as the Ravens had just 217 total yards of offense, as Joe Flacco really struggled to deal with the Steelers pressure, as he was sacked twice and had 2 interceptions on just 11 of 28 passing. The running had its moments, as LeRon McClain ran for 87 yards on 23 carries, but this team wasn’t able to make the big play and wound up with just two field goals on the game. This week they face a Cowboys defense that is red hot, and if Flacco doesn’t have a better day throwing the football, it could be game over in Dallas for these guys.

Now even if the offense struggles to get things going, you have to think the defense will have what it takes to keep this team in the game. They completely controlled the Steelers rushing attack allowing just 47 yards to will Parker, and only 16 to backup Mewelde Moore. Now th Ravens have had their struggles against the NFC East, as the Giants embarrassed them a few weeks back, but if we have learned one thing its to never count this team out, and they will have to find a way to rest up quick and take on an explosive Cowboys offense. The Cowboys got the win they needed last week, and this week they say goodbye to Texas Stadium for the final time, as they get ready to open up 2009 in their new stadium. Now the Cowboys Tony Romo took a number of crushing shots in the one, but still managed to lead this team to a victory, as Romo threw for 244 yards and 2 scores. While Romo had a great game, the play of rookie running back Tashard Choice was exactly what this team needed, as Choice not only ran it 9 times for 91 yards and a score, he also led the team in receiving with 4 catches for 52 yards. Now Barber will likely take over the bulk of the carries this week, but expect Choice to get his touches as well, as this kid has really played well the last two weeks.

The Cowboys defense made sure the Giants got nothing going in this one, as they kept New York from scoring a single touchdown in this one. Now the defense picked off Eli Manning twice, as they allowed the Super Bowl MVP to complete just 18 of 35 passes, but the biggest stat was the 8 sacks the Cowboys defense racked up, including 3 from DeMarcus Ware and 2 from Greg Ellis. If the Cowboys can get that kind of pressure this week on Flacco, its likely the Cowboys will be all smiles heading into the final game of the season. Bet Dallas Cowboys -4 at BetUS.com

    Cortney,

Ravens off an emotional loss to the Steelers while the Cowboys defense looked great in getting to Eli 8 times last week. I haven’t gotten deep into the game but Dallas is looking good at my first glance.
