NFL Lines: Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants
Written November 16, 2008 by Brad Marchetti

When the Baltimore Ravens vs New York Giants game kicks off at 1 PM ET it might be best to hide the woman and children. Both of these elite NFL squads pack a punch on both sides of the ball. The Ravens (6-3) are one of the biggest NFL’s surprise teams led by rookie QB Joe Flacco and emotional defensive leader Ray Lewis. The Giants (8-1)big offensive line facing off against the Ravens savage front seven will be a battle of attrition. Both of these teams are built around their swarming defenses. The Giants have 30.0 sacks while the Ravens allow 2.9 yards per carry. The NFL lines for the Baltimore Ravens vs New York Giants game is New York -7 on the SPREAD.
Eli Manning (88.8 passer rating) has the luxury of working behind an elite O-line and handing off two a three-headed rushing monster. Brandon Jacobs (6′4″ 265 4.50 40-speed 650+ squat) will be first in line to run into the heart of Ravens NFL best run D. The Ravens can be hit in the air on big pass plays so Manning will look downfield for his fleet of receivers. The Giants will need to be especially careful for linebacker blitzes. Baltimore OLB Terrell Suggs (6′3″ 260 4.80 40-speed) is a beast that will challenge NY LT David Diehl (6′5″ 320).
6′6″ 230 Lb. Ravens QB Joe Flacco (79.7 passer rating) has come of age in recent weeks. The strong-armed young rookie has shown the ability to strike while protecting the football. Flacco (55-MPH pass speed) has a menacing trio of backs to wear opponents down with. RB Willis McGahee (4.45 40-speed 425+ bench-press), RB Ray Rice (5′9″ 210 4.50 40-speed) and FB Le’Ron McClain (6′0 260″) each have their own dangerous dimension. The Giants pass-defense (71.5 defensive passer rating) will attack Flacco and challenge him to beat them with his arm. New York has also been very sound against the run this year allowing only 3.9 yards per carry and 87.7 yards per game.
This will be the probably the hardest fought game on the gridiron this Sunday. The Giants could be missing starting safety James Butler (knee). The Ravens rookie tandem of John Harbaugh and Joe Flacco has been great but how will they hold up against the champs? The Giants have proven capable of putting away good teams with a 10-1 ATS record against teams with a winning record.
