Scott Kazmir takes the hill as the Rays try to clinch the AL East in their September 25th matchup against the Tigers. Tampa Bay is going to be very hungry to finally clinch the division, so look for them to be on top of their game. Detroit has had a very disappointing season, as they were supposed to contend for the World Series. They have lost 6 games in a row, and 12 of their last 13 games. The Tigers are dead in the water and look for them to play that way.

The Rays have no lost to Detroit this year, as they swept them earlier in the season. Scott Kazmir will get the call, looking to sharpen up before the post-season begins. In his last start he went 6 shutout innings. Look for Kazmir to continue throwing the ball well against the struggling Tigers, who seem to have given up.

Armando Galarraga has been the lone bright spot in the Tiger’s rotation, but has struggled as of late. In his last 5 starts, he is just 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA. It seems as though Galarrago has given up on the season just like the rest of his team. Look for the hot Rays offense to take full advantage of Galarraga’s recent struggles. Tampa Bay have score 5 or more runs in 6 of their 9 games, and produced double digits 3 times during that span. That will be plenty for them behind Kazmir.
