Cincinnati Reds at Houston Astros Baseball Betting Odds
Written September 25, 2008 by Jay Todd
Houston looks to finish off the 2008 campaign on a high note, as they host the Reds on September 25th. Although they have a very slim chance, the Astros still have a shot at the post-season. This will be enough for Houston to play hard and not take a night off as many teams do at this point in the season. Roy Oswalt takes the hill for the Astros and he looks to stay hot in the second half of the season. Houston has a tough lineup to pitch too, so look for Johnny Cueto to struggle in this game. The Astros are a heavy -190 favorite to win the game.

Roy Oswalt has owned the Reds as of late. Oswalt has won 7 straight games against the Reds and has not lost a home outing against them. After struggling in the first half of the season, Oswalt is an outstanding 8-2 with a 1.67 ERA in his last 10 starts. Those numbers are as good as any in the league. Since making some moves to their roster, the Reds have struggled to score runs. Look for that to be a reoccurring theme against Oswalt and the Astro’s.
Houston easily has one of the most underrated lineups in all of baseball. Lance Berkman leads the way for the Astros. He is batting .396 with 3 homers and 8 RBIs in 7 games against the Reds. Also since returning from the DL Kaz Matsui is batting .417, and helps set the table for guys like Berkman, Carlos Lee and Miguel Tejada.
Look for Oswalt to continue his domination of the Red and for the offense to put up huge numbers against Johnny Cueto, who is 0-2 with an ERA of 6.50 against Houston. Jay Todd says to play Houston on the RUN LINE against Cincinnati with his free MLB picks.
