Richard Jefferson Off to Great Start with Spurs

Written August 7, 2009 by Jack Jones

richard-jefferson-keisha-nicholsWhat a summer it has been for Richard Jefferson.  First, he gets traded from the Milwaukee Bucks to the San Antonio Spurs, which he should be delighted about since he’s now on a team contending for an NBA title.  Currently the NBA odds makers over at BetUS have the Spurs at +1000 to win this year’s title.

Then things really started to get interesting as he called off his wedding to Keish Ni’Cole Nichols on the day of their nuptials were supposed to take place, and now the NY Post is reporting he has barred her from their shared apartment.  He isn’t doing much to rally support around him down in San Antonio.  I know that most NBA fans probably don’t care about their favorite stars personal lives, but this is one of the guys in the league that I actually thought had some character, but after all of this garbage he is just coming across as your typical street thug.

I don’t care that you don’t want to marry your fiance, but dumping her on her wedding day?  That’s harsh.  Then you have the stones to bar her from your apartment without even letting her in to collect her things.  What’s the matter with you?  Then again, it wasn’t all that long ago that the Spurs had Dennis Rodman in uniform.

But hey, when it comes to making NBA picks I won’t let my personal bias against this man’s morals get in the way.  I know that in order to win at NBA betting you wager with your brain and not your heart.

Well im a little confused. She went on Good Morning America and said that he didnt dump her on the wedding day. That they both came to an agreement a week before that they shouldnt continue. So why is this article saying something that everyone already knows is false. Unless of course whoever wrote this isnt the most intelligent. Lastly the original report of the story was so over blown and now everyone knows is false why should we now believe the initial report from the same newspaper. One might believe that this is over blown and also false. So that fact that some ignorant reporter is giving out information that we know to be is false has the balls to call someone a typical street thug…..Dont know if anything on this sight should be read at all.

You are right about telling them calling off the wedding, it was just that he didn’t tell any of his groomsmen that was the case until 2 hours before so everyone still showed up. Go ahead and back up your boy, since he’s obviously a stand up guy.

Not true because in the same interview she said that both families all knew by monday night. The whole 2million dollar thing was false also the whole people showing up was false. MS Nichols stated herself that everyone knew on both sides. Now im confused why would YOU write that he callled of his wedding the day of when obviously you also know that information was false.

Speaking of stand up guy. You dont even have enough journalistic integrity to check your information before you put it out to the masses. You feel that is ok to not check your sources before you write them or do you feel like you should emblish the story like everyone else so you can grab some attention. Thats kinda sad

Ladies and Gentlemen should really be taking any advice from some one who says he is an expert on betting? Obviously this individual doesnt do his research. Is this someone who you want to take his advice and put your money in his hands? I think not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NY Post released a similar story. What makes any of you think you have better sources than they do?

Sorry guys, but Chris is right. The real story is all over the net and has been for a couple of weeks. Jefferson’s fiance has told her story and it contridicts everything in this article. Publishing this version of the story this late in the game is completely irresponsible and sensationalistic even for a nobody, sports betting, blogger, jackass. Stick to the numbers, Jacko. This is pure garbage and so are you.

Jack and Steve, you guys are clueless and so is the Post. To clarify a bit, my sources are as good as they get since I am close friends with both Richard and Kesha (who’s name you even spelled wrong in your article above), and was invited to the wedding. Every fact that was initially reported in The Post as well as most other newpapers and tabloids has since been proven to be either 100% false or grossly exaggerated and was reported just to make what journalists call a “good story”. Some of their so called “facts” were so ridiculous that I had to laugh. I know many of the groomsmen and bridesmaids, and they found out the same day that I did that the wedding had been called off, which was the Monday before the event, the following Saturday. They called off the wedding because they were arguing far too much and realized that marriage was not the right path for them to go down together. One more thing to clear up now is that Richard is not a “Thug” as you called him, but is actually a very intelligent guy who is a truly good person with strong values and morals, and I’m proud to call him a friend.

For you to report these false rumors and stories weeks after the real story has already been reported on is not only completely irresponsible, but shows how little you actually know about what you write. Publishing something like this when most of the world has already heard or read the real story directly from both parties opens you up for libel. The real story now is something that you again falsely touched on in your piece, which is about him supposedly barring her from his place. The truth behind that is that he has owned his place for many years. She moved in there with him for most of the past year as they were engaged during that time while he played for Milwaukee. When they split up, he decided to give her some money to help her start her life out again even though she has a thriving dance company already (no “settlement” since they weren’t married and he didn’t have to give her anything), and it was largely for her to find an apartment to rent and start her life over again. Now stop and ask yourself for a second if you would want your ex-fiance staying in your apartment after a very public final split? We’ve all been there, probably most with ex-girlfriends, and we know it’s best to cut the cord completely and go completely separate ways. One might even ask themself why she would even want to come back to his apartment…

Well, this mess that you mentioned started when certain people started whispering in her ear that she should try to make his life unnecesarily miserable with lawyers, reporters, and by getting herself moved back into his place through whatever means necessary just to try to get more money among other things from him since she has no legal grounds to actually lay claim to any of it. Unfortunately, she took action on this bad advice and started this scandel. She is not the angel that the media has been reporting her to be, and is doing whatever she can with her newly found 15 minutes of fame to try to make him want to pay her off very nicely just to go away. The REAL story should be that she has shown her true colors to be the gold digger that many have speculated her to be, and that he has made possibly the wisest decision of his life to not marry her in retrospect.

Does that clear up just about all the false things that you reported on in your story? Now hopefully you will see that the real victim of this mess is Richard and your story only perpetuates that. More importantly, don’t publish nonsense like this on the web or any other medium unless you have your facts straight next time…
