We have put together this basic list of roulette terms:

American Wheel - This refers to the 00 wheel commonly used in North America giving a total of 38 slots as opposed to the European wheel with 37 slots.

Column Bet - This involves betting on one of the 12 number columns.

Combination Bet - Betting on more than one possible outcome.

Corner Bet - Betting on one of four numbers connected on the table.

Dozen Bet - Where numbers 1-12 (first 12), 13-24 (middle 12), or 25-36 (last 12) are bet on.

European Wheel - This wheel has 37 slots due to the fact it has a single 0 as opposed to the American wheel that has 00 and 38 slots in total.

High / Low Bet - Betting on half of the numbers on the table, 1-18 or 19-36.

Inside Bet - A bet that is placed on the number grid area.

Odd / Even Bet - A bet placed either on odd numbers or even numbers.

Outside Bet - A bet not placed on a number like an inside bet but placed on a red or black, odd or even etc.

Red / Black Bet - This is when the player just bets on the color of the number coming up.

Split Bet - This bet is on the outcome of two numbers chosen.

Straight Up Bet - Betting on a single number.

Trio Bet - Another combination bet that wagers on the ball landing on one of three numbers.

Zero / Double Zero - These are the green slots, on a European wheel you will find a single green 0 and on the American wheel a green 00 as well as the single 0.

If you memorize this roulette glossary then you can feel like a pro when you step into the casino or open up an application and start playing on the web. Knowing all of these terms will also help you make more educated bets and maximize the enjoyment from betting on roulette.
