Rutgers at Pittsburgh Football Betting Odds

Pitt looks to take one step closer to a Big East title as they take on Rutgers this week. After losing their season opener, Pitt has won five straight and is coming off two impressive wins. The Panthers upset South Florida and knocked off a solid Navy team by three touchdowns. The Panthers are rolling coming into this one and that is why Pitt is 9.5-point favorites to beat Rutgers with the total set at 42.

Pitt is led by stud running back LeSean McCoy. McCoy is averaging over five yards per carry and has found the end zone ten times this season. In his last three games he is averaging 149 yards per game and has scored five touchdowns. Rutgers is giving up an average of 150 rushing yards per game. Look for McCoy to get around 25 carries. That will be enough to put up huge numbers.

Rutgers has struggled to score points all season. In their five losses they are scoring just over 13 points per game. Pitt’s defense is nothing special; however they have been solid in the scoring aspect. During their five game win streak, the Panthers have not allowed over 24 points, and they have faced some pretty sound offenses in Iowa, South Florida and Navy.

Rutgers and Pitt have shared a common opponent on this season in Navy. Rutgers could only manage 21 points in the loss, whereas Pitt put up 42 in a three touchdown win.
