Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals NFL Betting Odds & Spread
Written November 14, 2008 by Jason Lowry

The Arizona Cardinals have to like where they stand in the NFC West this season, as they are 6-3 and the rest of the division is all bunched together at 2-7. This week the Cardinals have a shot of adding another game to their lead when they travel to take on the Seattle Seahawks. Last week the Cardinals got a big scare from the 49ers, as San Francisco had the ball on the 1 yard line with 4 seconds to go to win the game, but were unable to punch it in. As for the Seahawks, they suffered a tough loss to the Dolphins on the road 21-19. For those of you looking to do some NFL betting this weekend, the oddsmakers have the Cardinals 3 point favorites on the road over the Seahawks at BetUS.com
The Cardinals continue to have one of the most explosive passing games in the league, and thats thanks to a veteran QB playing like an MVP again, and a trio of talented receivers. Kurt Warner is a two-time MVP winner, and the numbers he is putting up this season are off the charts. Last week against the 49ers Warner threw for 328 yards and 3 scores, but this guy is doing this week in an week out, as he is completing 70% of his passes on the season and has 19 touchdowns to just 6 interceptions. Now it helps when you are throwing to guys like Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald, but the guy rising up the charts is 2nd year receiver Steve Breaston, who had his 3rd 100 yard game of the season last week, as he hauled in 7 balls for 124 yards. The Cardinals also look like they have gotten better in the run game, as Tim Hightower is no the feature back in this offense. Look for the Cardinals to put up a number of points this week against the Seahawks.
The Cardinals defense might not be the best bunch in the league, but they are getting the job done, and making sure they beat the teams they are suppose to. Against the 49ers they picked off Shaun Hill 2 times and were able to keep Frank Gore under a 100 yards and out of the endzone. This week against the Seahawks there is a chance they will get their starter Matt Hasselbeck back from injury, so this defense better come ready to play, or an upset could be in the making. Now if you looked at the Seahawks 2-7 record, you wouldn’t think there was much of chance that this team was averaging the most yards per game in the league, but at 412 they are, and they are pretty balanced with 239 coming through the air, and 173 on the ground. Last week against the Dolphins Seneca Wallace had this team right in the think of things completing 21/38 passes for 185 yards and a score, but the biggest play came when he was unable to connect with John Carlson for a 2pt point conversion that would of tied the game up late in the 4th quarter. The running game was solid again with Julius Jones, as Jones ran it just 16 times for a team leading 88 yards. If the Seahawks are able to get Hasselbeck back this week, they just might get enough things going their way at home, to give the Cardinals another tough game on the road.
The Seahawks defense doesn’t look like its going to find that groove it had a year ago, when many were saying it was one of the better defenses in the league. Last week against the Dolphins they had no answer for running back Ricky Williams who needed just 12 carries to gain over a 100 yards, including a 51 yard touchdown run. They did a pretty good job against Chad Pennington allowing just 209 yards with a touchdown and an interception, but its hard to think they will have that same kind of success this week against Warner and the Cardinals high flying offense. If the offense can get it going, and the defense can at least slow down the passing attack, the Seahawks can not only cover, they can win this football game. Bet Seahawks +3 at BetUS.com
