Seahawks vs Dolphins Spread
Written by Jason Lowry

This week in NFL week 10 action the Seattle Seahawks will take their play on the road, as they try and get something going on the season when they take on the Miami Dolphins this Sunday. The Seahawks season has been a huge disappointment as injuries and bad play have led this team to a 2-6 start, and some pretty bad losses this season. For the Dolphins things have got a lot better for a team that lost its first 2 games of the season, as they have rebounded to get to .500 on the season as they are now 4-4 after there 26-17 win over the Broncos last week. The oddsmakers are thinking all Dolphins in this one, as Miami comes in 8 point favorites over the Seahawks.
The Seahawks will again be without Matt Hasselbeck this week, and that means they need a real big day out of Seneca Wallace who really struggled after opening the game up with a 90 yard bomb to Koren Robinson on the Seahawks first possession of the game. After that Wallace threw for just 79 yards, so its easy to see it wasn’t a good day for this QB. The running wasn’t terrible as Maurice Morris Julius Jones had 84 yards on 18 carries, but when the team is climbing up hill for most of the game they can’t keep running the football. Its hard to imagine this unit picking it up this weekend against the Dolphins defense, but stranger things have happened.
The Seahawks defense has been pretty ugly as well, as they let Donovan McNabb throw for nearly 350 yards and 2 scores, while Westbrook added another 61 yards on the ground. This defense did create a turnover when they intercepted McNabb, but overall this unit doesn’t look like they have much to stop the other team. The team is expected to get middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu back on defense this week, so maybe he will get this team turned in the right direction.
As for the Dolphins they come into this one off a huge win on the road last week against Denver, as the Broncos rarely ever lose at home coming off a bye week. The offense remained solid as Chad Pennington threw for 281 yards including 11 strikes to Greg Camarillo for 111 yards. Ronnie Brown got the running game going with 59 yards and the teams only touchdown. Most of the Dolphins offense came from the leg of Dan Carpenter who connected for 4 field goals before the team even scored their first offensive touchdown. We are expecting a big day from this unit against a beat up Seahawks team that just doesn’t have much to play for, and the fact they had to travel about as far you will have to in the NFL.
The Dolphins defense is a force, and they continue to cause problems for just about every team they face. Against the Broncos they forced Jay Cutler to throw 3 interceptions, including one to corner Will Allen who took it 32 yards back for a touchdown. The run defense was excellent, as they gave up just 14 rushing yards to the Broncos running backs, and if they can keep playing like this on this side of the football, this team is going to have a legit shot at going from winning just 1 game to possibly winning the division or at least making the playoffs.
Got something to say?
