If you are interested in doing some sports betting today as you wait for the clock to ring in the New Year, then there are plenty of opportunities. Let’s take a look at the games on today’s slate.

Bowl Action

The college football betting action gets started early on Wednesday as Houston takes on Air Force at 12 PM EST in the Armed Forces Bowl. This game will be played in Fort Worth, Texas and the college football odds makers have listed Houston as a 3.5 point favorite, with the total at 64.

Next on the list is the Sun Bowl taking place at 2 PM EST. This game will feature the 9-3 Pittsburgh Panthers against the 8-4 Oregon State Beavers in El Paso, Texas. Oregon State is currently a 2.5 point favorite to win this game, while the total is set at 51.5.

The action just keeps on coming and at 3:30 PM EST it will be the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee. This bowl features the 9-4 Boston College Eagles against the 6-6 Vanderbilt Commodores. Even though this game will be played in Vanderbilt’s home state, the Eagles are a 3.5 point favorite with the total listed at 40.5.

A pair of 7-5 teams in Kansas and Minnesota square off at 5:30 PM EST in the Insight Bowl at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. This is the spread with the largest margin as the Jayhawks have been pegged as 8.5 point favorites with a over/under set at 58.5.

The day of bowl action ends with the Chick-fil-A Bowl taking place at 7:30 PM EST in the Georgia Dome. It will be the 7-5 LSU Tigers taking on the 9-3 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, with the Jackets listed as the 4-point favorite and the total being set at 52.5.

NBA

The Orlando Magic will try to bounce back from Monday’s 88-82 road loss in Detroit when they take on the Chicago Bulls at 2 PM EST. Five more games will also take place with a 3 PM EST tipoff between the Nets and Pistons in Detroit, Milwaukee at Houston, Denver at Toronto, Golden State at Oklahoma City, and Philadelphia at the LA Clippers. NCAA Basketball

No. 1 North Carolina is in action on Wednesday night as they try to extend their 12-0 record against Nevada. Plenty of other ranked teams are squaring off with No. 3 Pittsburgh vs. Rutgers, No. 5 Duke vs. Loyola MD, No. 7 Notre Dame vs. DePaul, No. 10 Michigan State vs. No. 21 Minnesota, No. 16 Gonzaga vs. Utah, No. 18 Louisville vs. UNLV, No. 22 Xavier vs. Robert Morris, No. 23 Michigan vs. Wisconsin, and No. 24 Ohio State vs. Iowa.
