Stanford at Notre Dame Football Betting Picks

The vastly improved Irish take on a below average Stanford team this Saturday in South Bend. Notre Dame is unbeaten so far at home, and look for that to continue against this Stanford team. The odds makers at BetUS see them doing so, listing Notre Dame as a 7.5 point favorite over Stanford.
Jimmy Clausen has been the major reason for this Irish team being 3-1. Clausen is coming off a game against a solid Purdue team in which he threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns. More importantly he didn’t turn the ball over. Clausen has thrown for 900 yards and nine touchdowns so far this year. The Stanford secondary has struggled this year, as they give up 260 yards threw the air each game and have allowed seven passing touchdowns. Look for Clausen to shine once again, as he has a huge day against the Cardinal.
Stanford has relied all year on running the football. They rank near the bottom of the NCAA in passing yardage. Facing a team like the Irish, will cause Stanford to pass the football because they will be in a hole early. This is a huge edge to Notre Dame. Look for the Irish defense to play off Clausen and the Notre Dame offense and shut down the Cardinal early and often.
Notre Dame will continue their great start this weekend against an average Stanford team. Play Notre Dame -7.5, behind Clausen, over the Stanford Cardinal.
