2012 Sweet 16 Bracket

It’s been another interesting NCAA tournament in 2012. This year’s Sweet 16 field includes three double-digit seeds: #10 Xavier, #13 Ohio, and #11 NC State. Download or print this year’s complete Sweet 16 Bracket.
Other than two of those three double-digit seeds winning against better seeds, there was just one other upset this weekend (according to seeding). #6 Cincinnati shocked a lot of #5 Florida State backers, who felt the Seminoles were a legitimate Final Four contender. You can check the most recent odds to see who of the remaining teams has the best chance to win the championship.
All four #1 seeds still remain after Kentucky took care of #8 Iowa State, Michigan State escaped against #9 St. Louis, North Carolina cruised to a relatively easy win over #8 Creighton, and Syracuse dominated against #8 Kansas State.
Only two #2 seeds are left in the Sweet 16 field (Kansas and Ohio State) after both Duke and Missouri were upset by #15 seeds in the first round (Duke by Lehigh, Missouri by Norfolk State).
There are two #3 seeds left after Baylor destroyed #11 Colorado and Marquette outlasted #6 Murray State. Other #3 seeds Florida State and Georgetown lost in the last round to Cincinnati and NC State, respectively.
The biggest surprise this year might be that there are still three #4 seeds remaining. Indiana, Louisville, and Wisconsin are all still alive after winning in the last round, the lone #4 loser being Michigan, who lost in the first round to #13 Ohio, who is still in the tournament.
Looking at this year’s crop of Sweet 16 teams, it’s easy to see why the NCAA Tournament has been dubbed “March Madness”. Your bracket may be toast, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy watching and wagering on the remaining games.
Got something to say?
