Syracuse at Louisville Football Lines

Sportsbook has a 50% Signup BONUS for anyone interested in betting college football!  Tomorrow at noon ET will be the kickoff between Syracuse (3-6) and the Cardinals (3-6).  These Big East foes are both winless in the conference with the same 0-4 record, and Louisville will welcome them to Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.  The last time the Orange hit the road they got a spanking versus a top conference team in Pittsburgh.  They’re currently riding a two game losing streak and are hoping to end the drought despite being the 7.5 underdogs according to the college football odds.  The total is set at 45.

Syracuse is currently enjoying a 5-3 all time lead over their opponent, and has won the last two times out.  This year their offense has been a big stagnant, struggling to gain 309.6 ypg.  Former Duke basketball standout Greg Paulus has done a decent job at QB, throwing 10 td’s for just under 1500 yards, but taking care of the ball has been the plague of this unit.  Paulus has thrown 13 interceptions and the unit has committed 23 turnovers.  It doesn’t help that Mike Williams, who led the team with 49 receptions and 6 td’s, recently quit.  Without a big play threat, the offense will turn to RB Delone Carter, who’s done a good job carrying the ground game with over 100 ypg and 6 td’s.

Pittsburgh is one of the top teams in the conference, so it’s no surprise that they were able to have their way with a mediocre defense.  Last week they garnered a total of 481 yards, which is over a 100 yards higher than what the Orange typically allow.   The strength of the defense has been against the run, but Pitt exposed them for 247 yards.  On the year they’re averaging 106.9 ypg in that area, and are no doubt looking to bounce back after that let down.  Betfirms has all you need when it comes to expert college football picks.

Louisville has had trouble putting points up on the board this year, as evidenced by their 19 total td’s.  In the last three games they’ve averaged 13.3 points, not enough to get the win in most Big East matchups.  The Cardinals have yet to find a QB that can consistently lead the offense.  Three QB’s have seen significant action, and they’ve combined for 1855 yards, 6 td’s and 9 int’s!   The main threat through the air is Scott Long, who’s caught 38 balls for 550 yards, while the ground game has been led by Bilal Powell (372 yards) and Darius Ashley (328 yards) while leading rusher Victor Anderson (480 yards) has been sidelined the last two weeks due to injury.

A bright spot for the Cardinals last week was the play on the other side of the ball.  They held the Mountaineers to 273 total yards, which was a great effort considering their average of 360.8.  Their biggest struggle this year has been defending the run.  They gave up 172 yards to WVU and have averaged over 150 on the year.  They can also do a better job in the turnover department, as they’ve had 14 on the year.

Both of these teams have losing records and have struggled to put points on the board.   This will be both teams best opportunity for a Big East victory, and Louisville gets the edge because they’re playing at home, have the slightly better defense and are less turnover prone.  For more NCAA football picks look no further than your friends at Betfirms.
