Which MLB Manager will be Fired First in 2011 - April 5, 2011

The 2011 MLB season is underway and that got us thinking about which manager will be the first to be fired this season. Last year Royals manager Trey Hillman got the boot after just 35 games. There were a total of seven manager changes in 2010, including two by the Orioles, who first fired Dave Trembley, then replaced interim head coach Juan Samuel with Buck Showalter. Here is a look at the five managers who came into the 2011 season with the best odds to be fired, and a look at whether or not we...

Below I will list the odds on every team in both the American League and the National League. I will also give a quick sentence or two on whether or not each squad has a legitimate shot to take down the crown come October. 2011 American League Central Predictions - February 25, 2011

The Minnesota Twins won the AL Central in 2010 for the sixth time in nine seasons. They finished the regular season at 94-68, but would eventually suffer their 12th consecutive postseason loss while getting swept by the New York Yankees. The Chicago White Sox had a solid season and placed second in the division at 88-74. 2011 Chicago White Sox Predictions - February 18, 2011

Only four teams in the American League last season finished with at least four hitters with 70-plus RBIs. Three of those teams made the playoffs, but the Chicago White Sox were the one that didn’t. They finished 2010 with an 88-74 record which was good for second place in the AL Central, but not quite good enough to earn a wild card spot. 2010 Chicago White Sox Predictions - March 4, 2010

GM Kenny Williams made several moves for the Chicago White Sox last season, most of which were pretty expensive. They didn’t pay off last season, but perhaps he was expecting they just may pan out in 2010. Williams went out and got Alex Rios and Jake Peavy for roughly $115 million over the long run, and Rios failed to hit .200 in his time with Chicago while Peavy made just three starts. The White Sox scored the second-fewest runs after the All-Star Break, but they had the second-best pitching staff...

2009 Chicago White Sox Predictions - March 4, 2009

While the Cubs seem to get all of the attention in Chicago, the White Sox are pretty darn good.  Thanks to a one game playoff win over the Minnesota Twins last season, the White Sox once again won the AL Central. It was the first time they had done so since 2005 when they went on to win the World Series. The playoff birth was as good as the season got for the South Siders, as the Sox were bounced out of the first round of the playoffs by the Tampa Bay Rays in just 4 games. The Sox are hoping that...
