Central Michigan at Kent State Odds - November 1, 2011

There’s not much more than pride on the line Thursday when the Central Michigan Chippewas visit the Kent State Golden Flashes in MAC play. The Chippewas are in last place in the MAC West division, while the Golden Flashes are in fifth place in the East. Since they are in opposite divisions, these teams rarely face each other. They have only squared off three times since the turn of the century, with CMU winning the last two. Central Michigan has won eight of the last 10 in this series, including...

2011 Kent State Football Predictions - July 7, 2011

Kent State is looking to improve on a 5-7 record in former Ohio State assistant Darrell Hazell’s first season as the head coach. This team was competitive in nearly every MAC game last season with only Temple and Western Michigan having decisive victories. The Golden Flashes have a tough non-conference schedule, but several factors lean towards a shot at a bowl bid for KSU this season. Hazell has an offensive background and takes over a team that returns 9 starters to the offensive side of the...

Kent State at Florida - December 8, 2010

This Thursday the No. 24 Florida Gators (6-2) will host the Kent State Golden Flashes (5-2), in the first ever meeting between these two schools. The Gators bounced back from a disappointing loss at UCF last week, with a 67-48 win over American on Sunday. Florida really hasn’t been tested all that much this season, their only game against a ranked team was Ohio State, and they lost 93-75. The Golden Flashes may be 5-2, but they haven’t exactly played the toughest competition. The Golden...

2009 Kent State Football Predictions - July 21, 2009

After a 4-8 season in 2008, Doug Martin is now 19-39 in five years as Kent State head coach. Finally, there is a great chance for improvement this season as five of the Flashes’ first seven foes have first-year head coaches. Four of those seven contests will be held at Dix Stadium, so a fast start will be crucial as Martin knows another down season could mean his tenure will be over. If sophomore QB Giorgio Morgan can replace Julian Edelman, KSU will be competitive in 2009. Sportsbook.com offers...

2009 Kent State Golden Flashes NCAA Football Predictions - July 9, 2009

The Kent State Golden Flashes had a rough go of things in 2008, as they finished up the season at just 4-8, and they haven’t had a winning record since they finished 6-5 back in 2001. The Golden Flashes did show some promise at the end of the 2008 season with a win at home against Temple and a very surprising win on the road in their final game of the season over Buffalo. This year the Golden Flashes have 15 returning starters coming back, but they have a very difficult task ahead of them in...
