2011 MAC Football Predictions - June 30, 2011

The Mid American Conference should be wide open this season as it is top heavy in both divisions and eleven of the thirteen schools have coaches in their third season or less. Five schools made a coaching change heading into this season: Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Ball State, Temple and Kent State. Miami, Northern Illinois and Temple all figure to be involved in their respective divisional races even after the coaching change. This conference returns nearly every starting QB, explosive playmakers...

2009 Akron Zips NCAA Football Predictions - July 10, 2009

The Akron Zips had a disappointing season in 2009 that landed them their third straight losing season in a row. The Zips headed into the final three games of the season with a 5-4 record, but were unable to come away with a win in each of their final three games, including a 4 overtime thriller against Buffalo at home. This year the Zips are hoping to bounce back with not only a winning season, but the schools second trip to a bowl game, as their only postseason appearance came back in 2005. This...

2009 Bowling Green Falcons NCAA Football Predictions - July 9, 2009

The Bowling Green Falcons were picked by many to win the Mid-American East division last season, but ended up falling just short as they finished 4-4 in the MAC play and just 6-6 overall. The 2009 season doesn’t look as bright for the Falcons, as only 10 returning starters are back and the team is under a bit of a transition with the addition of new head coach Dave Clawson, who is changing things on both sides of the ball. Here is a look what the Falcons are expected to look like on both sides...

2009 Kent State Golden Flashes NCAA Football Predictions - July 9, 2009

The Kent State Golden Flashes had a rough go of things in 2008, as they finished up the season at just 4-8, and they haven’t had a winning record since they finished 6-5 back in 2001. The Golden Flashes did show some promise at the end of the 2008 season with a win at home against Temple and a very surprising win on the road in their final game of the season over Buffalo. This year the Golden Flashes have 15 returning starters coming back, but they have a very difficult task ahead of them in...

2009 Miami Redhawks NCAA Football Predictions - July 9, 2009

After starting off the decade with six straight winning seasons, the Miami Redhawks looked primed to finish off the decade with four straight losing seasons after a very disappointing 2-10 season in 2008. The Redhawks have just 12 returning starters back in 2008, and its hard to imagine that this team that went 1-7 in Mid-American Conference play last season, is going to challenge for anything other than last place in the East division. Here is a quick look at what the Redhawks will look like on...

2009 Temple Owls NCAA Football Predictions - July 8, 2009

The Temple Owls had some very high expectation going into the 2008 season, as they lost just two starters from the previous season, but things just didn’t go the Owls way as they finished up the season at 5-7. The Owls did finish tied for 2nd in the East division of the Mid-American Conference at 4-4, and it wasn’t as though the Owls played bad last season, as they lost three games on the final play, and spent four games without their starting quarterback. The Owls are once again primed...

2009 Buffalo Bulls NCAA Football Predictions - July 8, 2009

The Buffalo Bulls put together a very strong 2008 season, as they were able to win the Mid-American East division by going 5-3 in conference play and they pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season when they beat Ball State In the MAC title game. The Bulls luck ended there as they fell to Connecticut in the International Bowl, the first bowl game in school history. This year the Bulls return 14 starters back, but do have some key holes they will have to fill if they want to repeat as MAC...

2009 Western Michigan Broncos NCAA Football Predictions - July 2, 2009

The Western Michigan Broncos had a pretty solid 2008 season, as they finished up the year at 9-4, including a solid 6-2 record in the Mid-American Conference. The Broncos earned just their fourth ever bowl game appearance last year, but were unable to come away with the schools first ever win in postseason play, as the Broncos fell to Rice 14-38. This year the Broncos return just 10 starters, which is tied for the fewest out of any team in the MAC this season, but there are still thoughts of MAC...

2009 Ohio Bobcats NCAA Football Predictions - July 2, 2009

The Ohio Bobcats had a season of close calls in 2008, it just so happens that they all went the other way. The Bobcats finished the season just 3-5 in the Mid-American East division and 4-8 overall, but 5 of those 8 losses were games this team could have easily won. With 14 returning starters coming back in 2009, the Bobcats could be looking to return to their form of 2006 where they finished in first place in the East and earned their first bowl game appearance since 1968. On offense the Bobcats...

2009 Northern Illinois Huskies NCAA Football Predictions - July 2, 2009

The Northern Illinois Huskies had bounced back from a 2-10 season in 2007 to go 6-7 in 2008, but that record could have been a lot better under first year coach Jerry Kill, as the Huskies lost five of their seven games by 7 points or less. One of those loses came in the Independence Bowl where the Huskies fell to Louisiana Tech 10-17. Kill has his work cut out for him in 2009, as the Huskies lost 24 lettermen from last season and return just 11 starters. The majority of the starters coming back are...

2009 Eastern Michigan Eagles NCAA Football Predictions - July 2, 2009

The Eastern Michigan Eagles suffered another losing season in 2008, as the Eagles finished just 2-6 in the Mid-American Conference and 3-9 overall. In comes Ron English to take over this football program as the new head coach, and he inherits a bunch of starters coming back in 2009, as the Eagles have 17 returning starters. On offense the Eagles should be able to keep up with pretty much every other team in this conference, as they return 9 starters to a unit that scored 26 points a game and gained...

2009 Ball State Cardinals NCAA Football Predictions - July 2, 2009

The Ball State Cardinals had an incredible run last season, as they started the season 12-0 and got as high as No.12 overall in the rankings, but there was no story book finish for the Cardinals, as they first fell to Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference Championship game 24-42 and then were no match for Tulsa in the GMAC bowl game getting killed by the Golden Hurricane 45-13. The Cardinals also lost their head coach for the past six seasons, as Brady Hoke left the team to coach San Diego State....
