Nevada at Boise State Spread - September 28, 2011

The Boise State Broncos had their hopes of playing for a BCS championship crushed last season with a 34-31 loss to the Nevada Wolf Pack on November 26th. They led Nevada 24-7 at halftime, and it appeared that they would at least be in the discussion for a national title shot. But the Wolf Pack came storming back, and Kyle Brotzman missed a 26-yard field goal at the end of regulation that would have won it for the Broncos. He also missed a 29-yard attempt in overtime, sealing their fate. The fourth-ranked...

2011 Nevada Football Predictions - July 5, 2011

With a 20-13 win over Boston College in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, the Nevada Wolf Pack concluded the 2010 season with a 13-1 overall record. The Wolf Pack tied Boise State and Hawaii with a 7-1 WAC mark, which included a thrilling 34-31 overtime win over Boise State late in the year. Nevada will look to repeat as champions in their final season in the WAC, as they will jump ship with Fresno State and Hawaii to the MWC in 2012 (Boise State joins MWC this season). Defending their title won’t...

The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) has watched the Boise State Broncos win or share eight of the last nine titles. With the Broncos shift to the Mountain West Conference, the WAC appears to be as wide open as ever. In 2010 Boise State, Nevada, and Hawaii all finished the season with a 7-1 conference record, as the Wolf Pack spoiled the Broncos perfect season in a thrilling 34-31 overtime win late in the year. While there appears to be four teams who really have a shot at winning the conference...

2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl Odds - January 8, 2011

The Boston College Eagles square off against the Nevada Wolf Pack Sunday in the 2011 Fight Hunger Bowl. The 13th-ranked Wolf Pack put together a tremendous season, going 12-1 and upsetting then-No. 3 Boise State in a 34-31 overtime thriller on November 26. Had it not been for a 27-21 loss at Hawaii back in October, Nevada would certainly have a resume worthy of a BCS berth. Boston College (7-5) won their final five games of the regular season to become bowl eligible, and will be playing in the postseason...

California at Nevada - September 13, 2010

A battle of unbeatens takes place Friday night when the California Bears visit the Nevada Wolf Pack. Cal has opened 2-0 by beating UC Davis 52-3 and defeating Colorado 52-7. Nevada is also 2-0, taking care of Eastern Washington 49-24 before throttling Colorado State 51-6 last week. So both teams haven’t had any trouble thus far, but according to the college football odds this is expected to be a tight one. The Bears are sure to be tested as they hit the road for the first time Friday. Their win...

Check out more winning football picks at Betfirms!  The Hawaii Bowl is scheduled to kick off in Honolulu Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. ET, where the Mustangs and Wolfpack will be ready to roll.  Southern Methodist is the big story this year after pulling off one of the best turnarounds in the FBS.  They went 1-11 last year to rebound under head coach June Jones to a 7-5 season in Conference USA.  Nevada (8-4) was just as impressive, earning a second place finish in the WAC after starting the year...

This Friday evening there will be a showdown in Boise as the Nevada Wolfpack travel to take on the Boise State Broncos in a much anticipated match up of the two best teams in the WAC. The Nevada running game is the best in the country statistics wise, but the Boise State passing and rushing attacks are strong. Louisiana Tech vs Nevada - October 8, 2009

The Friday night game on ESPN this week will pit Louisiana Tech against Nevada. The Wolfpack were hyped as a real contender before the season, but have disappointed thus far and sit at just 1-3 on the season. The Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech come in with a record of 2-2, though their two losses were to Auburn and Navy on the road. These two teams will get the national showcase Friday, so expect both teams to be especially amped up for this WAC showdown. The Nevada Wolfpack have plenty of talent on...

Missouri at Nevada Odds - September 24, 2009

The Missouri Tigers (3-0) pounded the Wolf Pack (0-2) 69-17 last year, and are looking to pick up where they left off this Friday night in Nevada. The match up is set for 9:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN, and latest college football lines have the Tigers favored by 7 with the total set at 60.  This game features one of my favorite plays this week. Last year, the Tigers amassed 519 yards passing, and the game plan hasn’t changed against a Wolf Pack defense susceptible in the air. Sophomore QB Blaine Gabbert...

Nevada at Notre Dame - September 4, 2009

Notre Dame Football begins this Saturday; can you smell the tradition in the air? Because Nevada can’t, especially after facing a Notre Dame team that’s racked up 13 losses in the last two years, and just recently broke a 9 bowl game losing streak. The Nevada Wolfpack will travel to South Bend, Indiana to take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, ranked 23 in the latest AP Poll.  According to the latest NCAA football lines, Notre Dame is the heavy favorite of 14 ½ points, but look for a Nevada...

Nevada vs Notre Dame College Football Lines - September 4, 2009

Anything short of a BCS Bowl for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this season would be considered unacceptable. They have a very manageable schedule, which starts with the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday, September 5th at home. Charlie Weis led the Fighting Irish to BCS Bowls in 2005 and ‘06, but then suffered a school-record nine losses in 2007 and six losses in ‘08. The 15 losses in the last two seasons are the most in the history of Notre Dame, and Weis is firmly planted on the hot seat because...

Nevada NCAA Football Predictions 2009 - July 14, 2009

The Nevada Wolf Pack have been to four consecutive bowl games, and now they are looking towards a conference title to take the next step forward. That will be tough considering they play the league favorite, Boise State, on the road. The Wolf Pack went 5-3 in league play last year, with all three losses coming by 7 points or less. The offense should be outstanding once again, but improvement in their record will rely upon a defense continuing to grow in the 4-3 system. If you are looking to bet on...

2009 Nevada Wolf Pack NCAA Football Predictions - July 11, 2009

The Nevada Wolf Pack put together a pretty solid season last year finishing tied for 2nd in the WAC at 5-3, but were unable to cap off the season with a big win in the Humanitarian Bowl against Maryland. The Wolf Pack ended up finishing the season 7-6 overall, but with 14 returning starters the Wolf Pack are thinking WAC Championship this season. On offense the Wolf Pack figure to have one of the best rushing attacks in the country with junior Vai Taua and 6th year senior Luke Lippincott. After leading...

2008 Humanitarian Bowl Picks - December 28, 2008

This Tuesday the Nevada Wolf Pack and the Maryland Terrapins will meet up for the first time in their schools history, when they face off in the Humanitarian Bowl on Boise States famous blue turf in Bronco Stadium. The Terrapins started off strong going 6-2 with wins over teams like Clemson, California, and Wake Forest, but the end of the season was not so fortunate, as Maryland dropped 3 of its last 4 including the final two against Florida State and Boston College. As for the Wolf Pack they started...

Now that the bowl match-ups have been released, speculation has already started about which teams are poised for big wins while others may be destined for blowouts. It is absolutely essential to know the situations that every bowl team is in before handicapping these games further. Nevada vs Boise State Football Odds - November 21, 2008

The Boise State Broncos try to remain undefeated this week on the road against Nevada.  Boise is currently ranked 9th in the nation and still hoping to make a splash in a BCS Bowl, but they’ll have to get past a pesky 6-4 Nevada team.  The Broncos have been dominating every one in the WAC, as they usually do, but this is one of the better teams in the conference and Boise should not overlook them this week.  Nevada gained bowl-eligibility with their win last week over San Jose State, but...

College Football Picks & Predictions: Week 13 - November 19, 2008

One of the biggest college football match ups of the season comes on Saturday as Texas Tech visits Oklahoma in a game with massive BCS implications.  Oklahoma is currently a 7 point favorite, mostly because of home field advantage.  I won’t deny Texas Tech’s talent, but Oklahoma is no slouch to say the least.  Norman will be absolutely rocking for this game and I don’t see how the Red Raiders can get up for three straight games of this magnitude, even with a bye last week. ...

Week 13 College Football Odds - November 18, 2008

This week’s college football lines have been posted.  Here is a quick run down of the best games going this Saturday: The biggest game of the week in college football (and probably in all sports) has to be the Texas Tech Red Raiders at the Oklahoma Sooners.  The Sooners are tough as nails at home, but Texas Tech as shown they have the ability to win the big game.  The Sooners are favored by 7 points right now as they have been playing lights-out and, of course, have the homefield advantage. Mississippi...

San Jose State at Nevada - November 13, 2008

San Jose State is a strong defensive football team that has played a lot of close games this season. The Spartans are 6-4 on the year and allow just 19 points per game. Nevada is just 5-4 on the year and has struggled mightily on defense. Nevada is listed as a 15-point favorite at BetUS, where you can get up to 145% in bonuses on your initial deposit. Both teams in this match up love to run the football. Nevada relies heavily on the run at face a defense in San Jose State that has done a fairly...

Nevada vs. Fresno State Odds - November 4, 2008

This Friday WAC conference football will be center stage once again, as the Nevada Wolf Pack get ready to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs in what is a big game for both teams if they want to get into a bowl game this year. Nevada currently sits at 4-4 overall, and they likely will need to win 3 of their final 3 games, and with one of those against Boise State this game is almost a must win for the Wolf Pack. As for Fresno State they are 5-3 and just missed getting that 6th win last week when they...
