2011 New Mexico State Football Predictions - July 6, 2011

While the New Mexico State Aggies have won just five games in the first two seasons under head coach DeWayne Walker, I think this team is headed in the right direction. Walker had a lot of work to do to fix the mess that was created by head coach Hal Mumme, and implemented new schemes on both sides of the ball. New Mexico finished 2010 with a 2-10 record, which included a 1-7 mark in the WAC. This year they have 16 starters back, and while they won’t be competing for a conference title, they...

The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) has watched the Boise State Broncos win or share eight of the last nine titles. With the Broncos shift to the Mountain West Conference, the WAC appears to be as wide open as ever. In 2010 Boise State, Nevada, and Hawaii all finished the season with a 7-1 conference record, as the Wolf Pack spoiled the Broncos perfect season in a thrilling 34-31 overtime win late in the year. While there appears to be four teams who really have a shot at winning the conference...

New Mexico State 2009 Football Predictions - July 14, 2009

This was an exciting team to watch last season with a passing game that mustered up 301.3 yards/game which ranked 10th nationally, but those gaudy numbers came at the expense of a poor run game and defense. New head coach DeWayne Walker has inherited a roster that left him void of much talent, and he will have to transition them from playing a pass-happy offense and an unconventional 3-3-5 defense. There are two winnable games to start the season at home against Idaho and Prairie View A&M, but...
