Tiger Woods Odds to Win 2010 Masters
Written by Jack Jones
In case you missed it while studying up on your 2010 NCAA tournament bracket strategy, Tiger Woods confirmed today that he will return to the PGA Tour by teeing it up at the 2010 Masters in August, Georgia on April 8th, 2010. The odds makers over at Bodog wasted no time in making him the favorite to win at 3-to-1.
In a statement released by Woods on Tuesday he said, “after a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I’m ready to start my season at August.” The Masters holds a special place in Woods’ heart since that is where he won his first major. Plus since he is going after Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 career majors, not many people thought he could pass up a chance to add to his trophy case.
This is a great golf tournament for Woods to make his return since the fans are typically on their best behavior, and the media presence is limited. This should allow Woods to focus on golf as much as possible and not the intense scrutiny that he will be facing upon his return.
The last time Woods took a long layoff from the game is when his father, Earl, died in 2006. Woods returned to the 2006 US Open, but missed the cut after consecutive 76s. He does feel like that experience will help him prepare for this return to action.
