The Trojans are anticipating another big season after a sixth straight Pac 10 title, and a very impressive win over Illinois in their 3rd consecutive Rose Bowl appearance, and while Virginia had a pretty successful season as well going 9-4, but they failed to win their bowl game against Texas Tech and a lot of talent is gone.

Virginia +19
The Trojans only bring back 4 starters on offense, but you have to remember that at USC they don’t rebuild they reload. It looks like Mark Sanchez is going to be the guy under center when the season gets underway, and he should have no problem either throwing the ball around to guys like Patrick Turner, Videl Hazelton, or Damian Williams. or handing it off to a bunch of talented backs that includes the likes of Stafon Johnson, Joe McKnight, and C.J. Gable. The Cavaliers do bring back 6 starters on this side of the ball, and they are hoping things can improve off a mediocre performance last season. Sophomore Peter Lalich is the likely play caller for this unit, as he looks to step in for the departed Jameel Sewell. The Cavs do a lot of work with their tight end, so that mean John Phillips can expect every chance to shine this season. The running game will be in the hands of Mikell Simpson, and the team is really looking forward to the return of wideout Kevin Ogletree, who missed 2007 with an injury. This unit could make strides but don’t expect much against a stout Trojan defense. Bet USC -19 at JustBet.com
Speaking of the stout defense of USC they bring back 7 starters, and have plenty of talent ready to step in and perform when the time comes. Up front the team is loaded with talent on the line in tackle Fili Moala and end Evereson Griffen. At linebacker the talent keeps coming in strong side backer Brian Cushing. In the secondary the safety duo of Taylor Mays and Kevin Ellison for the best combo in the Pac 10. As for the Cavaliers the defense only brings back 5 starters and the loss of star Chris Long could really bring out a bigger weakness than the team is ready for. This means up front the team is going to count on 3 new faces, and will need some big play out of sophomore end Sean Gottschalk. The strength of this unit lies at linebacker where seniors Jon Copper, Antonio Appleby, and Clint Sintim should cause chaos to opposing teams. The secondary brings back half their starters, and will need solid play out of the new comers in sophomores Ras-i Dowling and Mike Parker. Bet Virginia +19 at JustBet.com
