Video Poker & Comps

If you factor in the comps that you receive from the casino, then you will find yourself in the positive over the long haul if you play perfectly on a full-pay Jack-or-better machine that pays nine coins for a full house and six coins for a flush. The key is to use a casino slot card to get credit for your play because in the United States alone, casinos give away over a billion dollars in comps each year. The amount of the comp is usually based off of the number of coins you cycles through the machine, so by using your card you get credit for every single play. It is also a wise idea to shop around different casinos to see how many points you get per dollar plays and to find out what those points are worth in the end.
Comps won’t necessarily get you in the profits, but they are certainly a nice little perk to ease the pain of losing. Don’t think that you should gamble just so you can get some goodies.
Remember that it is easier to play basic strategy in video poker than it is when at the blackjack table. Plus, the house edge against you is around 1%. You can easily bring along a cheat sheet that you can purchase in most places for $3-$5.
