Washington v. Arizona Football Betting Odds & Predictions
Written October 2, 2008 by Jay Todd

Washington goes on the road to Tucson in quest for their first win in the 2008 season. Although winless on the season, the Huskies have shown that they are a capable team and let’s not forget who they have played. Washington has played three top 25 teams, including Oklahoma. It is easy to see that the Huskies are battle tested and ready to get one in the win column. Arizona is no doubt an improved team. They are 3-1, but still have not yet played a really good team. There is no way the Wildcats are over three touchdowns better than Washington, but the odds at BetUS show Arizona -21.5 over Washington with the total set at 58.5.
With Washington’s early season struggles in the passing game they have been relying on running the football early. Setting up the running game early and often will be a big key. It will keep the clock running and the Wildcat offense off the field. To cover this spread Arizona would have to be perfect on offense, and that is something they haven’t been this season. Do not look for that to continue.
Jake Locker will not play for the Huskies as he broke in thumb last week against Stanford. However, do not let this scare you. Ronnie Fouch, Locker’s replacement, has show than he can throw the football better than Locker. He has completed a higher percentage of passes and has thrown one more touchdown pass in 46 less completions. Washington doesn’t lose a whole lot in the running game either, as Locker is only averaging 2.3 yards per carry. Look for Fouch to build on his solid performance against Stanford. A game in witch he threw for 186 yards and a touchdown after Locker’s injury.
Look for Washington to do enough to cover the college football odds this week against Arizona. Take the 21.5 points and the Huskies over Arizona. If you want more free football picks to help you win, see who else our handicappers are taking.
