Washington State vs Arizona Spread

Betfirms has all the winning football picks, and you can place your bets at Bodog, where all comers get a 10% Desposit BONUS!  Arizona will be playing host to the worst team in the Pac-10 this weekend as they take on Washington St. in Tucson.  This is the first time in 9 years the Wildcats have been ranked nationally (21), and while one more win makes them bowl eligible, they’ve got loftier goals in mind.  Gametime is set for this Saturday at 3:30 pm ET where the Cougars are the 33 point underdogs.  The college football spreads have the total set at 60.

Washington State has been abysmal all year long, and that trend continued last week against Notre Dame.  They compiled 206 total yards while turning the ball ove twice in a 14-40 loss at San Antonio.  They allowed 5 sacks which raises their tally to 40 on the year, which leads the nation.  True freshman Josh Truel has been thrown into that fire and had performed admirably, hooking up for 59.5% of his passes for 6 td’s to 5 int’s.   In addition to running for his life, he’s put up those numbers without much help from the running game, as it is averaging 76.2 ypg.

The defense is just as bad as the offense.  The Cougars are allowing over 510 yards per contest and 37.3 ppg!  Last week the unit was on the field for over 40 minutes and gave up 592 total yards and 5 td’s to the Irish.  Missed tackles are a common occurence, and so far they’ve allowed 38 td’s in 8 games.  Click here for some great tips on betting college football.

The Wildcats are no doubt licking their chops when thinking about playing one of the worst defenses in the country.  QB Nick Foles has been completing72.3% of his passes for 11 td’s and 5 int’s.  Not only is he efficient, he’s diversified in that there are 4 recievers with over 20 receptions, and 5 with at least 1 td.   Foles had a bad game last week when he threw 3 int’s and lost two fumbles, but he salvaged his performance with 247 yards and 2 td’s in getting the win.  The running game has done their part putting up over 188 ypg.

Arizona got the win last week against UCLA because of a stellar defensive performance.  The unit forced two turnovers and held the Bruins to 211 yards without giving up a td.  What’s more, they stuffed the ground for 65 total yards and are allowing 101.3 ypg.  They should have no problem this week racking up better stats against a terrible offense.

While Arizona has the potential to do it, it’s tough to cover a 33 point spread, even at home.  The defense is still looking for their first shutout, and Washington State has been held to 6 points twice this season.  The Wildcats currently lead the series 23-13.  Look for them to roll over a team that’s been taking it all year, but not cover the spread.  Place a wager or check out more expert college football picks.
