Washington State v. USC Football Betting Odds

Written October 15, 2008 by Jay Todd

The Trojans head into Pullman to take on a horrible Cougar team. Washington State is not only one of the worst teams in the Pac-10, but also in the country. Washington State does not have a win against a division one opponent and it could stay that way for the rest of the year. The current college football odds are showing this game as a likely blowout, with USC favored by 42.5 over Washington State.

The Trojans bring in an offense that has big time playmakers at every position. They are facing a Washington State defense that is giving up an atrocious 51 points per game. Look for USC to take full advantage of that.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez is coming off a game in which he really struggled, so look for him to be focused and ready to thrash this Washington State defense. Sanchez has thrown for over 1200 yards already and 14 touchdowns. Look for him to put up huge numbers in this one.

Things only get worse for Washington State when it comes to rush defense. The Cougars are ranked in the basement of run defense. They are giving up 252.6 yards per game on the ground. Look for Joe McKnight, who averages seven yards per carry, to have a videogame-like day on the ground. C.J. Gable and Stafon Johnson will fill in for McKnight when he is out of the game and the Trojans won’t miss a beat.

Nothing even needs to be said about the defensive side of things for the Trojans. They will be all over this horrible Washington State team. This one was easy to choose with our college football picks this week, take USC -42.5 over Washington State.
