If you play smart, you can have a great time for an extended period and if you are lucky come out on top. But the casino is greedy and wants to take as much of your cold, hard cash as it can. Remember those nights in college when you woke up with some fat, ugly excuse for a girl on your arm? Chances are you had your beer goggles on and made a few bad decisions. Well like those unattractive girls the casinos want to load you up on alcohol to make some more bad decisions. Of course, they don’t just stop with the free booze, but also try to comp you on dinners, rooms, and other things to keep you sticking around and giving them a chance to earn their money back. Don’t get lured in to the free stuff, because like my mama always said, “nothing in life is free.”

The casinos have spent a lot of money learning how the mind works. Red supposedly draws gamblers in and gets them thinking of winning. Losing track of time is another trick they use. You won’t see clocks or windows anywhere inside the casino, because they don’t want you to know what time it is and how long you’ve been sitting there. Another great move by the casinos was putting chips on the table. Who cares if you are tossing a little black chip on the felt, what does that mean? Of course, if you were placing $100 bill out there you might feel sick to your stomach. Chips have no value in the real world so gamblers are more likely to throw them around carelessly.
