Week 10 NFL Power Rankings

Written November 13, 2009 by Rock Henderson

.)    New Orleans Saints- A couple close calls the past two weeks show that this team is vulnerable in certain areas.  Drew Brees is having a Pro Bowl year.

.)    Indianapolis Colts- Offense has sputtered, but the Colts keep winning.  Peyton Manning threw over 50 times against the Texans in their three point win.

.)    Minnesota Vikings- Bye week came at the perfect time to get everyone healthy for the stretch run.  If Favre keeps up his level of play the Vikes will be a real tough out in the playoffs.

.)    New England Patriots- Huge match-up with the undefeated Colts in Indy this Sunday.  Manning vs. Brady never seems to disappoint.  Our NFL odds show the Pats as 3 point dogs at Indianapolis this week.

.)    Cincinnati Bengals- Waiting for them to fall apart but they just keep winning.  RB Cedric Benson gives them balance on offense.

.)    Pittsburgh Steelers- Huge Monday night win at Denver.  Big Ben seems poised to capture his third ring.

.)    Denver Broncos- Losing two straight might make Bronco fans a little worrisome.  Kyle Orton threw three picks against the Steelers after having only one in his first 7 games.

.)    Dallas Cowboys- Quietly going about their business this season.  Romo seems to be at a comfort level that has not been there in the past.

.)    Philadelphia Eagles- Tough loss at home to the Cowboys.  A healthy Brian Westbrook is vital to the success of the Eagles in the second half.

.)  Arizona Cardinals- Couldn’t win a road game last year and are 4-0 on the road currently.  Have to play with more consistency if they want to be a contender.

.)  Atlanta Falcons- Turner the Burner is back for the Falcons and the offense is firing on all cylinders.  Will have to battle for a wild card spot as there is no catching New Orleans.

.)  Baltimore Ravens- The Bengals seem to be their kryptonite.  Need to run off three or four in a row as they are two games behind division leaders.

.)  San Diego Chargers- Next two weeks are huge as they host the Eagles and then travel to division rival Denver with first place most likely on the line.

.)  New York Giants- Devastating loss at home against San Diego heading into their bye week.  Tom Coughlin is a master of midseason adjustments.

.)  Houston Texans- Proved they are for real as they took Indy to the wire.  Have to figure out their running back situation quickly.

.)  Green Bay Packers- Losing to Tampa Bay?  Really?  Aaron Rodgers will be running for his life against a strong Dallas pass rush this week.

.)  Miami Dolphins- Record doesn’t indicate how well this team has played recently.  Have had a vicious schedule the past few weeks and must win against the Bucs Sunday

.)   New York Jets- Good news is that they don’t have to play the Dolphins again.  Bad news is that they have lost three of their last four and are two games behind the Patriots.

.)  Chicago Bears- Secondary was absolutely torched by Kurt Warner.  They won’t see the aerial assault again the 49ers, but have to stop RB Frank Gore.

.) San Francisco 49ers- Quarterback change to Alex Smith hasn’t gone according to plan yet.  Could be an elimination game for the playoffs with the Bears Thursday night.

Rest of the Bunch

.)  Jacksonville Jaguars

.)  Carolina Panthers

.)  Buffalo Bills

.)  Seattle Seahawks

.)  Tennessee Titans

.)  Washington Redskins

.)  Oakland Raiders

.)  Kansas City Chiefs

.)  St. Louis Rams

.)  Tampa Bay Buccaneers

.)   Detroit Lions

.)  Cleveland Browns
