Week 12 NFL Lines

Written November 26, 2009 by Rock Henderson

The Lions host their annual Thanksgiving Day game as division mate Green Bay comes to town. Packer QB Aaron Rodgers has played at an MVP level for most of the year, but will likely receive little recognition at the end of the year due to an average team. Lions QB Matthew Stafford is coming off his finest performance in the NFL against the Browns. Green Bay is an 11 point favorite.

Thursday night’s primetime game features the Denver Broncos hosting the New York football Giants. Both teams sit at 6-4, but the Broncos have lost four straight and are now fighting each other on the sideline. The Giants are starting to get healthy and a huge road win against Denver would set them up nicely for a playoff run. New York is a touchdown favorite in the Mile High City according to our latest NFL lines.

Houston has publicly stated that their home game against the Colts this weekend is a must win for the organization. Indy has been winning by very narrow margins in recent weeks and Sunday’s game against the Texans could be another nail biter. Houston laid an egg on Monday Night Football versus the Titans, but could make Texan fans forget all about it with an upset of the Colts. The Texans are getting 3 points.

Division rivals hook up in the City of Brotherly Love when the Redskins play at Philadelphia. Washington has actually played much better football the last couple weeks, but lost a heartbreaker at Dallas a week ago. They still have no answers on offense. Philly needs to avoid another letdown after losing to the lowly Oakland Raiders a couple weeks back. The Eagles are favored by 9 points.

It is not often that Vegas releases a double digit spread in a NFC North match-up between the Bears and Vikings. Jay Cutler hasn’t been what the doctor ordered as he leads the league in interceptions. Things don’t get any easier for him as he now has to go up against a nasty Vikings D. Brett Favre is in the MVP mix as a 40 year old, the man is an ageless wonder. Da Bears are getting 10.5 points.

Monday Night Football features the marquee game of the season when the Patriots play at New Orleans. Tom Brady has returned to MVP form and will be out to show who the real sheriff in the league is. The Patriots are sitting at 7-3 and hoping to lock up a first round bye in the AFC playoffs. New Orleans has the most explosive offense in the NFL so expect a shootout on Monday night. The Saints are a 3 point favorite.

The Jets will try and make a headline that doesn’t involve coaches crying or losing when the Carolina Panthers come to town. Both quarterbacks are struggling mightily, but have strong running games to lean on. New York will offer a large dosage of Thomas Jones, while Carolina will split their carries between DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. The Jets are a 3 point favorite.
