Week 13 College Football Odds

Written November 26, 2009 by Rock Henderson

Texas will head to College Station to take on their bitter rival the Texas A&M Aggies on Thanksgiving Day. This will be the two teams 116th meeting as they have played every year since 1915. The Longhorns have sealed a trip to the Big 12 title game, but need a win here to stay in the national title picture. A&M has qualified for a bowl game and a 7th win could improve their destination. The Aggies are getting 21 points.

One of the more interesting lines of the weekend is the Backyard Brawl game between Pitt and West Virginia. The public is on the Mountaineers to pull the upset, but Pitt is the one playing for a Big East title and BCS bowl berth. Two of the most electrifying running backs in the conference will go head-to-head when WVU’s Noel Devine and Pitt’s Dion Lewis look to lead their team to a victory. This game is a pick em’.

Bragging rights in the state of Alabama will be up for grabs when the Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers meet on the gridiron. Bama snapped a six game losing streak in the series with a 36-0 romp over the Tigers a year ago. Auburn has one of the more intrinsic offenses in the SEC, but Alabama’s defense is a dominant unit. The Tide are giving 10 points on the road.

The Border War between Kansas and Missouri always seems to bring some sort of excitement. This is the oldest rivalry west of the Mississippi as these two teams have met since 1891. KU is making headlines for all the wrong reasons recently with the allegations against head coach Mark Mangino. Mizzou has regained some momentum after a tough stretch through the middle of their season. Looking at our latest college football betting lines, the Tigers are a 3 point favorite.

It is not often that the Oklahoma Sooners come into the final game of the season with five losses. Injuries on the offensive end have depleted the Sooners. Oklahoma State has a chance to remain in the hunt for an at-large bid to the BCS with a win in Norman. QB Zac Robinson is questionable with an injury and WR Dez Bryant has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA. The Cowboys are a 9.5 point underdog.

Georgia will try to avenge their loss at home to Georgia Tech last year that saw the Yellow Jackets score 28 unanswered points in the third quarter. The Bulldog program is mourning the loss of yet another UGA mascot. Their defense has been absolutely atrocious this season and they allowed 407 yards rushing to the Ramblin’ Wreck in the loss last season. Tech has every skill player back so expect the triple option to run on full throttle. The Yellow Jackets are a 7.5 point favorite at home.

Notre Dame will conclude yet another disappointing season when they make the long trip to Stanford and clash with the Cardinal. Irish QB Jimmy Clausen doesn’t want to finish the season without going out with a fight apparently. Stanford has been one of the nice surprises in college football this year and have a nice future ahead of them. This game could be Charlie Weis’s final act. The Fighting Irish are getting 10 points.
