Week 13 NFL Power Rankings
Written December 3, 2009 by Rock Henderson
.) New Orleans Saints- Finally a believer after the absolute dismantling of the Patriots. Going to be a tough out at home as they thrive in the dome.
.) Indianapolis Colts- Peyton Manning led yet another second half comeback against the Texans. Face a stiff test against a red hot Titan team.
.) Minnesota Vikings- Brett Favre shows no signs of wear and tear, which is a bad sign for the rest of the NFC. Peterson needs to take care of the ball down the stretch. The Vikings are favored by 5 points at Arizona this week according to our NFL betting odds.
.) San Diego Chargers- Have thrown their name into the hat as a legit Super Bowl contender with their performance over the past month and a half.
.) Dallas Cowboys- Huge divisional match-up with the Giants on the road. Time for Tony Romo to show that he can win a big game on the road.
.) Cincinnati Bengals- Getting Cedric Benson back this week will help. They went 6-0 against their division and will most likely earn a first round bye.
.) New England Patriots- A number of holes on the defensive side of the ball spell doom on the road in the playoffs. Tom Brady looked average against the Saints defense.
.) Arizona Cardinals- Beating the Vikings at home Sunday would make a huge statement to the NFC. Cards need Kurt Warner to stay healthy.
.) Philadelphia Eagles- Jekyll and Hyde team of the NFL. Don’t think they are good enough on either side of the ball to be a legit factor in January.
.) Green Bay Packers- Two of their four losses were to the Vikings. Aaron Rodgers will keep them in every game, but their defense is suspect. 11.) Denver Broncos- Nice rebound win over the Giants. Not sure if they are the team that won six straight or lost four in a row?
.) Baltimore Ravens- Tough road test in Green Bay Sunday. Took overtime to beat a Dennis Dixon led Steeler team. Not a good sign for postseason chances.
.) Pittsburgh Steelers- Must beat the Raiders and Browns the next two weeks. Big Ben is set to return from a concussion suffered in Week 11.
.) New York Giants- A huge disappointment so far this season. Seem to be lacking an identity on offense and their defense can only do so much.
.) Atlanta Falcons- The Matt Ryan injury puts Atlanta behind the eight ball with Chris Redman at the helm. Need RB Michael Turner to get healthy quick.
.) Tennessee Titans- Rising up the Power Rankings each week. Vince Young is 5-0 starter this year, proving all doubters wrong to this point.
.) Jacksonville Jaguars- Need a late season surge behind Garrard and Jones-Drew. Have struggled away from home.
.) Miami Dolphins- Fins’ in a must win situation against the Patriots. Loss of dynamic running back Ronnie Brown might be too much to overcome.
.) Houston Texans- Another .500 record looks to be well within reach. Their season went down the drain with a second half collapse vs. Indy.
.) San Francisco 49ers- A quarterback away from being a real contender in the NFC. Can jump back into division race with a win and Cardinals loss.
-32
.) New York Jets
.) Chicago Bears
.) Carolina Panthers
.) Buffalo Bills
.) Seattle Seahawks
.) Washington Redskins
.) Kansas City Chiefs
.) Oakland Raiders
.) Detroit Lions
.) Tampa Buccaneers
.) St. Louis Rams
.) Cleveland Browns
