Week 13 NFL Power Rankings
Written November 26, 2008 by Jack Jones

With the Titans loss there is a new no. 1 on top of our power rankings and it’s the New York Giants. At 10-1, the defending champions are the best in the league this year.
Tennessee moves down a spot to no. 2 with their loss to the Jets. An easy schedule the next few weeks should help the Titans land home field throughout the playoffs.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are 8-3 and took care of business last Thursday night against the Bengals 27-10.
The Jets beat the Titans to move up to the no. 4 spot on our list. Not only is it tough to win on the road in the NFL, but it’s tough to go in and beat a team that’s 10-0 on their own turf.
I’ll take the Tampa Bay Bucs here for the no. 5 spot. They weren’t all that impressive against Detroit, but it was more of a case of taking the team lightly in the early goings than anything Detroit did.
Carolina is 8-3 but dropped a few spots due to their beating at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons.
The Cowboys took care of business against the 49ers and have an easy date with the Seahawks on Thanskgiving, this team should be ready to make their playoff run.
The Colts seem to be looking more like their old selves every week. Even though San Diego is down this year, any time a team goes on the road to beat the Chargers it’s a feat not to be overlooked.
New England has put together a nice run of games and now sits just one game back of the Jets for the AFC East. Matt Cassell is going to land himself a nice job next year the way he’s playing.
Atlanta put together a nice blowout win over their division rivals last week to move up in our rankings. This team is a little more for real than skeptics realize.
The Washington Redskins haven’t been impressive lately, but at 7-4 they are getting the job done. Traveling across the country and winning in Seattle might get the Skins out of their funk. A game this week with the Giants will tell us more.
The Ravens have looked good over the past month, with their only hiccup coming against the NY Giants two weeks ago. They get the Bengals this week and a win in Cincy will put this team at 8-4.
The Saints showed up on Monday Night football and proved to everyone that they are still an offensive powerhouse when they get to play on a fast track.
The Minnesota Vikings get to play host to the next team on our list, the Chicago Bears, this week. The winner will go a long way to winning the NFC North, the loser will put themselves in a little bit of a hole.
The Dolphins and the Bills are a pair of AFC East teams that are battling it out for the final two spots on our list. The Bills have tumbled in recent weeks, so I would give a slight edge to the Dolphins, who were killed at home against New England.
