Oregon is headed to the Rose Bowl, and this Saturday bring a plethora of great college football games, including a few conference championships, and it’s time to break out the highlights. Here’s a quick look at the top battles of the week, and you can find the rest at our college football odds.
Florida takes on Alabama, and the winner claims a right to the BCS Championship game and the SEC title. This will be a no holds barred fight to the finish between the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the country, where Nick Saban and company are looking to avenge the 31-20 loss from last year. Prediction: Alabama 24 – Florida 20
The Conference USA Champion will be crowned after #19 Houston and East Carolina duke it out in the Pirates home stadium. ECU is hoping to repeat their title, where Houston’s high powered offense is coming off a 73 point bonanza. Prediction: Houston 35 – East Carolina 31
Boise State is ranked 6th in the nation and should have no trouble making it a 13 regular season wins against an inferior opponent. New Mexico State has won three games on the year and doesn’t stand a chance against one of the most prolific offenses in the country. Prediction: Boise State 63 - New Mexico State 10
The ACC will have some fireworks going this weekend, as the championship will be decided between Georgia Tech and Clemson. GT edged the Tigers by 3 in the regular season, and it will be that much tougher to get their 2nd win against them. Look for Clemson to come roaring back in round 2. Prediction: Clemson 27 – Georgia Tech 21

The Pac – 10 has two great matchups this Saturday between ranked teams. # 20 USC has homefield advantage against Arizona. The Wildcats are on the rise, boasting the same 5-3 conference record as the Trojans. Pete Carroll and company may not be able to avoid the upset. The second excellent matchup is between inconsistent #19 California and low Washington. While the Golden Bears are riding a two game winning streak against ranked opponents, Washington has already knocked off USC and Arizona, and is just waiting to spoil another team’s season. Predictions: Arizona 31 - USC 24; California 27 – Washington 17
The Big East and a potential BCS bowl bid is on the line for #5 Cincinnati, as they take on rival #14 Pittsburgh for a shot at the title. Both of these teams have dominated conference foes, with Pittsburgh coming off of their only league loss last week to West Virginia. They’ll be ready to play for the game of the year: Prediction: Pittsburgh 21 – Cincinnati 20
#21 Nebraska has the potential for a BCS bowl game as well, albeit unlikely. They take on undefeated juggernaut Texas, ranked #3 for good reason. Nebraska has had success from their defense, and if they can play it perfect they can pull off the upset. But it’s unlikely against heisman hopeful Colt McCoy and crew. Prediction: Texas 24 – Nebraska 17
