The Colts and Jaguars get things started on Thursday night in Week 15 action. These two teams met in the opening week and Indianapolis was victorious 14-12. The Jags are battling for their playoff lives as this will be their final home game of the season as their last two match ups are on the road. Peyton Manning has stated that he plans on playing the entire game. Indy is a 3 point favorite according to the latest NFL point spreads.
Saturday night football is always welcome around the holidays as the desperate Dallas Cowboys take on the undefeated New Orleans Saints in the Superdome. Cowboy WR Roy Williams made headlines for guaranteeing a victory this weekend that would put Dallas in a good position for the playoffs. Drew Brees and the Saints have made it no secret that going 16-0 is a major goal of the team. New Orleans is favored by a touchdown. The Pittsburgh Steelers seem to play up or down to their competition this year so expect a competitive game against the 9-4 Green Bay Packers. Playoff aspirations are no longer a thought for the Steelers and all they really have to play for is pride. Green Bay features one of the top quarterbacks in the league as Aaron Rodgers is playing at a Pro Bowl level and will lead a dangerous team into the postseason. The Packers are getting 1.5 points.
Cincinnati will hit the road for their second straight tough road test that will be a good warm up for the playoffs. They were beat soundly by the Vikings last week and will get a shot to avenge the loss at the upstart San Diego Chargers on Sunday. The Chargers have rattled off eight straight wins since a 2-3 start. Expect each team to go full throttle to gauge themselves for a possible meeting down the road. San Diego is a 6.5 point favorite.
Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings hit the road this weekend and clash with the Carolina Panthers. The Vikings have assured themselves that they will be playing throughout the playoffs and will receive a first round bye. Adrian Peterson will need to carry the load down the stretch. Carolina was optimistic coming into the season, but a rough start coupled with a struggling Jake Delhomme were too much to overcome. The Panthers are getting 9 points at home.
Monday night football features a key NFC East match up between the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins. The Skins have improved in recent weeks under Jim Zorn and QB Jason Campbell is finally looking like the long term solution in Washington. New York lost an important game to the Eagles last Sunday night, but still have a chance to sneak into the playoffs if they win their final three games. The Giants are a 3 point favorite.
The Eagles will look to duplicate their 45 point performance against the Giants a week ago when the San Francisco 49ers come to town. Donovan McNabb and DeSean Jackson are one of the most explosive 1-2 punches in the NFL and seem to be firing on all cylinders at this point. The 49ers are coming off a season sweep of the division leading Cardinals and will try to get back to .500 with a win in Philly. San Francisco is a 9 point underdog.
