Week 16 NFL Power Rankings
Written December 23, 2009 by Rock Henderson
.) Indianapolis Colts- Clear cut #1 after the Saints went down to Dallas. Will be interesting to see if they play for the 16-0 mark.
.) New Orleans Saints- Defense is starting to look vulnerable down the stretch. Can wrap up home field with a win this week.
.) Minnesota Vikings- Childress and Favre better get on the same page for the playoffs. Vikes have lost two games in December.
.) San Diego Chargers- Hottest team in the NFL arguably. Chargers/Colts match up in the AFC title game seems inevitable. The Chargers are currently a 3 point favorite over the Titans according to our NFL point spreads.
.) Philadelphia Eagles- McNabb has the offense playing at a high level. Injury to Vick might take their X factor out of play.
.) Dallas Cowboys- Have the running game and defense to do some damage in January. Must win against Washington this weekend.
.) Cincinnati Bengals- Great comeback against the Chargers fell short. Need to play inspired football the rest of the way if they want to reach the Super Bowl.
.) Green Bay Packers- Secondary was blitzed for 503 yards by Big Ben in a 37-36 loss. A-rod keeps them in every game though.
.) New England Patriots- Tough to doubt the hoodie and Brady heading into the playoffs. Defense needs to be more consistent. Get a 20% bonus when you open up a new account at Bookmaker.com and start betting on the NFL now.
.) Arizona Cardinals- Have figured out their running back situation, but only beat the Lions by a touchdown last week.
.) Baltimore Ravens- Key game with the Steelers on Sunday could mean no postseason for the loser. Big Ben will suit up for this one.
.) Denver Broncos- Fading to the finish might be an understatement for this team. Looking like a 9-7 finish with @ Philadelphia and home vs. the Chiefs left.
.) New York Giants- The G-men brought the noise last Monday night, but can they keep it up? Will need back-to-back wins to be considered for the playoffs.
.) Pittsburgh Steelers- Somehow can still sneak in as a wild card these last two weeks. Tough finish as home vs. the Ravens and @ Miami in the finale.
.) Tennessee Titans- Chris Johnson should shine on Friday night against the Chargers. Jeff Fisher has orchestrated a remarkable turn around in Nashville.
.) Miami Dolphins- Tony Soprano has this team in contention once again. Need to win their final two games and have some help on the way also.
.) Atlanta Falcons- Playoff chances are slim to none. A lot of what ifs in Falcon land if Turner and Ryan stayed healthy all year long.
.) Jacksonville Jaguars- Two road games to wrap up the season spell disaster for an awful road team. MJD is Pro Bowl bound.
.) Houston Texans- Need to split their final two to reach 8-8 for the third straight year. Kubiak is on the hot seat because of that fact.
.) New York Jets- Tough to win when your young quarterback throws three picks in a game. This team will be scary once Sanchez figures it out.
-32
.) San Francisco 49ers
.) Carolina Panthers
.) Oakland Raiders
.) Buffalo Bills
.) Seattle Seahawks
.) Chicago Bears
.) Washington Redskins
.) Cleveland Browns
.) Kansas City Chiefs
.) Detroit Lions
.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
.) St. Louis Rams
