Week 2 College Football Lines

Let’s take a look at the lines for some of the top match ups in college football this week.  If you want a closer look at each game, just click on the link for that match up!  Here we go!

Thursday September 8, 2011

8:00 PM EST |  Arizona at Oklahoma State (Okie State -14, O/U 65) – Both of these offenses put up a lot of points in their first game of the season.  This will be the first real test for each squad, on a short week no less.

Friday September 9, 2011

10:30 PM EST |  Missouri at Arizona State (Arizona St. -7.5, O/U 53.5) – Both teams are struggling with some key injuries.  Missouri looked rusty in week 1, but played better than their final score showed.  Arizona State made easy work of an easy opponent.  We just don’t know much about these teams heading into this game, but should find out a lot based on how each looks in this match up.

Saturday September 10, 2011

12:00 PM EST |  Iowa at Iowa State (Iowa -7, O/U 44) – On paper it looked like the Hawkeyes rolled and the Cyclones struggled last week.  There’s some truth in that, but plenty of deception to go around with Iowa capitalizing on some big plays and Iowa State playing without many breaks against an underrated Northern Iowa rival.

12:20 PM EST |  Mississippi State at Auburn (Mississippi State -7, O/U 55.5) – Auburn looked awful in their first game since winning the National Championship, but in the end squeaked out a 42-38 win over Utah State.  Mississippi State rolled over Memphis 59-17.  Everyone involved in Auburn football seems to be waiting for the hammer to drop after a magical 2010.  This could very well be the game where it does.

12:30 PM EST |  Rutgers at North Carolina (UNC -10.5, O/U 48.5) – Neither team had much competition last week.  UNC won by 32 and Rutgers by 48.  We’ll get a better sense of where each program is at after this game.

3:30 PM EST |  Alabama at Penn State (Bama -10, O/U 43.5) – The Tide rolled 24-3 last year in Alabama, but it will be a much different atmosphere for both teams in Happy Valley this Saturday.  Bama is a double-digit road favorite, but they are young on offense and will need to limit mistakes to keep their national title hopes alive.

3:30 PM EST |  Cal at Colorado (Cal -6.5, O/U 48.5) – Colorado official debuts in the Pac-12 by hosting the California Golden Bears.  Cal won the meeting last season in non-conference action 52-7 in California.  Welcome to the conference, Buffs!

4:30 PM EST |  Georgia at South Carolina (South Carolina -3, O/U 51) – This should be a great SEC match up between two of the favorites in the East half of the conference.  Georgia stumbled against a great Boise team, losing 35-21, while South Carolina overcame a 17-0 deficit to eventually pull away to a 56-37 victory.  The stakes are high in this one for both teams.

8:00 PM EST |  Notre Dame at Michigan (Notre Dame -3.5, O/U 55.5) – Expectations are high again for both teams.  I had heard rumblings of an undefeated season for Notre Dame, but a week 1 loss to South Florida put an end to that pretty damn quick.  Michigan found themselves with a 34-10 victory over Western Michigan, but the Wolverines could not have been that happy with their performance, particularly in Heisman hopeful Denard Robinson, who threw for only 98 yards and rushed for just 46.
