Week 4 College Football Picks
Written September 25, 2009 by Rock Henderson
Illinois @ Ohio State- Illinois had a bye week to prepare for the Buckeyes. Enough time to get Juice Williams and Arellious Benn heal. Illini should score enough points to stay w/in the number Pick: Illinois +14
Minnesota @ Northwestern- Big time line movement in this game. Northwestern opened as a 2.5 point favorite and now Minnesota is favored by 1. Pick: Minnesota -1
TCU @ Clemson- Fifteenth-ranked TCU’s first real test of the season. Quarterback and defensive advantage for the Horned Frogs. Pick: TCU +2.5
Arkansas @ Alabama- Crimson Tide defense might be the best in the nation. Razorback D could be the worst. Alabama in a romp here. Pick: Alabama -17.5

California @ Oregon- The Ducks have the offense to score with Cal and the D to slow down Jahvid Best. Line has been moving South. Pick: Oregon +5.5
North Carolina @ Georgia Tech- Tech looked lost on offense last week. Carolina put it on the Jackets 28-7 last year with many of the same players. Pick: North Carolina +2.5
Pittsburgh @ NC State- Pitt RB Dion Lewis leads a potent Panther attack. NC State’s loss to South Carolina doesn’t look so bad now. Pick: NC State -1
Washington @ Stanford- Hard to believe the Huskies are over a touchdown underdog at Stanford after their upset of USC. Like Jake Locker to keep it close. Pick: Washington +8
Miami (FL) @ Virginia Tech- No player is hotter than Miami QB Jacory Harris. Think Vegas is starting to over-value this Cane team. Pick: Virginia Tech +3
Notre Dame @ Purdue- Irish QB Jimmy Clausen is expected to play. Loss of star WR Michael Floyd hurts, but ND is much more talented. Pick: Notre Dame -7
Iowa @ Penn State- Both defenses are stout. Iowa has historically played well in Happy Valley. Penn State will win the game, but spread is too high. Pick: Iowa +9.5
Texas Tech @ Houston- Houston leads the nation in ppg, scoring 50 per. Expect the Cougars to have a letdown after a huge win at Oklahoma State. Pick: Texas Tech +1
Arizona @ Oregon State- Beaver RB Jacquizz Rodgers will be the best player on the field. Arizona has quarterback issues. Huge home field advantage here. Pick: Oregon State -2.5
Washington State @ USC- Angry Trojans are scary Trojans. WSU is down right awful. Huge number, but USC won’t lack motivation after last week. Pick: USC -45
Michigan State @ Wisconsin- Spartans had Notre Dame on the ropes in South Bend. Wisconsin has played a bunch of cream puffs. Think Sparty learns from their mistakes a week ago and gets a nice road win. Pick: Michigan State +3
