Written October 1, 2008 by Jack Jones

If you participate in an office pool that requires you to select straight up winners then we are hear to help. We will go through all of the games for week 5 and give you our score predictions for the two teams. If your pool uses NFL point spreads instead of just SU winners, then you will have to take a look at the NFL expert picks from our team of top handicappers. All of these predictions are based off the latest totals and spreads set by the top books online.
Indianapolis Colts 25
Houston Texans 22
Houston’s struggles will continue after the Colts got to rest up last week over their bye.
Tennessee Titans 18
Baltimore Ravens 15
The Titans are for real this year, and on Monday night we saw that the Ravens are not too bad themselves.
San Diego Chargers 26
Miami Dolphins 20
The Dolphins are coming off a bye week, and the week before knocked off the Patriots but aren’t getting any love from the books here.
Kansas City Chiefs 15
Carolina Panthers 24
Last week Kansas City played tough against a division rival, but Carolina has been rolling in the early goings.
Washington Redskins 18
Philadelphia Eagles 24
Can Washington go on the road and beat two NFC East rivals in a row? It doesn’t appear so.
Chicago Bears 24
Detroit Lions 21
The Lions might be one of the worst teams in the league, and the Bears are starting to look pretty good.
Seattle Seahawks 19
New York Giants 26
The defending champs are laying a heavy number at home against Seattle.
Tampa Bay Bucs 22
Denver Broncos 25
The problems Denver has on defense have been offset by a productive offense. That offense might have trouble against Gruden’s defense.
New England Patriots 22
San Francisco 49ers 19
The experts think that the Patriots will bounce back after losing their first regular season game since 2006. They are coming off a bye, which Belichick is notorious for using to his advantage.
Buffalo Bills 22
Arizona Cardinals 23
Arizona got beat up and thrown around against the Jets last week, this week another quality AFC East team visits the desert with the Cardinals holding a slight advantage.
Cincinnati Bengals 14
Dallas Cowboys 31
How bad are the Bengals? Turns out they are even worse when Carson Palmer watches from the sidelines. The Cowboys will be hungry after last week’s loss.
Pittsburgh Steelers 16
Jacksonville Jaguars 20
Pittsburgh looked vulnerable on Monday night against the Ravens, while the Jaguars are proving tough with back-to-back overtime victories.
Minnesota Vikings 22
New Orleans Saints 25
This Monday night game should be a good one. The Saints have been playing well while the Vikings are underachieving. Jackson will once again be under center for Minnesota which leads them to be the underdogs.
