College Football Score Predictions: Week 6
Written October 8, 2009 by Kyle Hunter
The first big game of the weekend pits #21 Nebraska against Big 12 North foe #24 Missouri. Missouri has played better than expected, but Nebraska is back this year. Expect the Huskers defense to make it tough on the Tigers. Prediction: Nebraska 28 Missouri 21
#1 Florida travels to #4 LSU in the biggest game of the weekend. Tim Tebow may well be a game time decision, and that will certainly play a role in who the winner of this game is. The guess here is that Tebow plays at least some, and the Gators win in a tough environment. Prediction: Florida 24 LSU 17
#3 Alabama will travel to take on #20 Ole Miss. Jevan Snead has been a little off his game, but the Rebels quarterback still has plenty of talent to work with. Alabama has been very consistent and their ability to do everything well should pay off for them in this one. Get a $500 match bonus this season when you sign up for a new account and deposit $500 or more at BetUS. Prediction: Alabama 27 Ole Miss 21
#9 Ohio State will host #25 Wisconsin in a Big 10 showdown in the horseshoe Saturday. Wisconsin has a history of going into the horseshoe and winning, but they will face a very tough Ohio State defense. Expect the Badgers to make this a tough one, but the Buckeyes pull it out in the end. Prediction: Ohio State 24 Wisconsin 17
The Michigan Wolverines head to Kinnick Stadium to take on the Hawkeyes of Iowa this weekend. Michigan’s defense just hasn’t stepped up that much this year, and it finally bit them last weekend. Iowa should be able to make more stops than the Wolverines in this one. Prediction: Iowa 28 Michigan 20
Newly ranked #17 Auburn will travel to Arkansas in a tough SEC battle. Expect tons of points to be point on the board on this one as both offenses should control the game. Arkansas will probably come up with a play at the end to win at home. Prediction: Arkansas 35 Auburn 31
#5 Virginia Tech hosts unranked Boston College this weekend. The Hokies weren’t impressive last weekend against Duke, but they did get the win. Boston College upset Florida State last weekend, but don’t expect the offense of Boston College to be able to move the ball much in this one. Prediction: Virginia Tech 28 Boston College 10]
#13 Oregon heads to Los Angeles to take on UCLA this weekend. UCLA has definitely improved this year and I still remember that anemic offensive performance by Oregon at Boise. Prediction: UCLA 24 Oregon 20
#2 Texas hosts Colorado in what should be a major mismatch. The Buffaloes are not good at all this year and Texas is just hitting their stride. Texas will score early and often in this game. Prediction: Texas 48 Colorado 10
#10 TCU has a tricky matchup this weekend with Air Force. Air Force doesn’t have the talent that TCU does, but they can definitely make life tough on anyone. I think TCU’s defense will do enough to pull off the victory. Prediction: TCU 20 Air Force 14
#22 Georgia Tech heads to Florida State to face a reeling Seminoles team. This may be the toughest game of the weekend to predict because you never know what Florida State team will show up. For some reason I think Florida State will win because of their passing game. Prediction: Florida State 31 Georgia Tech 28
#19 Oklahoma hosts Baylor and the Sooners will likely be looking for blood after a hard fought loss last weekend. Whether Bradford plays or not I expect Oklahoma to run up the score in this one. Prediction: Oklahoma 45 Baylor 10
