Texans defeat Bengals 28-17 - Cincinnati certainly had a letdown following their win against the Ravens last week, while the Texans wanted this one badly after losing to the Cardinals in a heartbreaker last Sunday. Houston’s defense stepped up, holding the Bengals scoreless for 3 out of 4 quarters. Matt Schaub threw for 392 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win.

Packers defeat Lions 26-0 - Green Bay’s defense was outstanding, and Aaron Rodgers moved the ball at will on offense with 358 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. The Packers are now 19-0 in their last 19 home meetings with Detroit.

Jaguars defeat Rams 23-20 - This game was more of a blowout than the final score indicated. Maurice Jones-Drew scored three touchdowns and the Jaguars outgained the Rams 492-262, but St. Louis kept it close because of an interception return for a touchdown by Leonard Little in the fourth quarter. The Rams tied it up with 4 seconds to go on a Josh Brown field goal, but Josh Scobee won it in overtime for the Jaguars. It marked the 16th consecutive loss for St. Louis.

Vikings defeat Ravens 33-31 - Minnesota controlled this game most the way before a frantic fourth quarter comeback by Baltimore. The Ravens put up 21 fourth quarter points to actually take a 31-30 lead, but Brett Favre hit Sidney Rice on a bomb with only a few minutes remaining to set up a Ryan Longwell field goal. The Ravens got the ball back and marched into field goal ranger, but their attempt at a game-winning kick sailed wide left as the Vikings improved to 6-0 on the year.

Saints defeat Giants 48-27 - New Orleans took control from the git-go, posting a 34-17 halftime lead and never looking back. Drew Brees threw for 369 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win.

Steelers defeat Browns 27-14 - Ben Roethlisberger had a career-day with 417 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. Both teams turned the ball over 4 times so it got sloppy, but Big Ben and company did enough to complete their 12th straight win over Cleveland.

Panthers defeat Buccaneers 28-21 - Carolina is back in business after their second straight win, putting up 21 points in the second half on Tampa Bay. The Panthers got their running game going finally as DeAngelo Williams rushed for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns while Jonathan Stewart chipped in 110 rushing yards and a score.

Chiefs defeat Redskins 14-6 - This marks the third team that Washington has handed their first win of the season this year. This game saw no touchdowns with 6 field goals and a safety as the only points scored. Head coach Jim Zorn is stepping down as offensive coordinator, but it appears the problem is likely a lot deeper than just his play-calling.

Raiders defeat Eagles 13-9 - Looks like Oakland players looked themselves in the mirror before this one after getting trounced 44-7 by the Giants the previous week. Their defense stepped up big, limiting Philly to just 283 total yards. Donovan McNabb completed just 47.8% of his 46 attempts in the game. JaMarcus Russell finally got it together, completing 17-of-28 passes for 224 yards and a touchdown. Zach Miller caught 6 balls for 139 yards and an 86-yard touchdown reception from Russell.

Cardinals defeat Seahawks 27-3 - Arizona’s defense was the story in this one, limiting Matt Hasselbeck and company to just 7 first downs and 128 yards of total offense. They forced 2 turnovers and sacked Hasselbeck 5 times, putting pressure on Seattle’s QB all day long. Kurt Warner threw for 276 yards and 2 touchdowns in the victory.

Patriots defeat Titans 59-0 - Hard to imagine New England putting up 59 points in the snow, but Tom Brady and company just kept piling on the points by moving the ball through the air at will. Brady threw for 380 yards and 6 touchdowns, with three to Randy Moss and two to Wes Welker.

Bills defeat Jets 16-13 - Thomas Jones rushed for a career-high 210 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough for this Jets’ offense to overcome 5 interceptions by rookie QB Mark Sanchez. He completed just 10-of-29 passes in the game, and it’s hard to imagine why New York continued allowing him to throw the ball when they were running it at will. Ryan Lindell won it for Buffalo with a 47-yard field goal in overtime.

Falcons defeat Bears 21-14 - In a back and forth contest, it was Matt Ryan and company who made enough plays to win. Michael Turner scored on a 5-yard scamper with only 3:06 remaining, and the Falcons’ defense stopped Jay Cutler and the Bears’ offense on a fourth-and-6 down in the red zone with only a few seconds remaining to preserve the win. Both QB’s threw 2 INT’s and it was Matt Forte’s 2 fumbles that allowed the Falcons to come away with a victory.

Broncos defeat Chargers 34-23 - The Denver defense stepped up big in the second half like they’ve done all season after trailing 20-17 at intermission. They outscored the Chargers 17-3 the rest of the way and Eddie Royal made the biggest difference with kickoff and punt returns for touchdowns. For the season, Denver has outscored their opponents 76-10 in the second half, including overtime.
