Thursday night should get the Week 7 of the college football season started off the right way. Cincinnati travels to South Florida is a key Big East battle that could go a long way in deciding the automatic berth given to the champion of the league. The Bearcats opened as 3.5 point favorites.
The Red River Rivalry has come around once again for Oklahoma and Texas. Sam Bradford returned last week from injury to lead his Sooners over Baylor in what looked to be a warm up session for the Texas game. The winner of this most likely gets a spot in the Big 12 championship game as a representative of the South. Texas is giving 3.5 points.
Ohio State hits the road in the Big Ten to clash with the Purdue Boilermakers. The Buckeyes must remained focused as it cannot afford another bump in the road if it wants to stay in the national title picture. Purdue has to cut down on the turnovers to keep this game competitive. The Boilermakers are 13 point dogs according to the latest NCAA football lines.
The 11th ranked Iowa Hawkeyes face another tough challenge this weekend at Wisconsin. Iowa proved it is capable of winning in tough environments when they silenced Penn State in Happy Valley. Vegas obviously isn’t a believer in this team quite yet. The Hawks are getting 3 points on the road.

USC will look to make it eight in a row against the Fighting Irish. Both teams are coming off bye weeks and have had ample time to prepare. The Trojans have outscored Notre Dame 76-3 the last two years and have averaged 27 point wins since 2002. USC is a 17 point favorite in South Bend.
The battle for bragging rights in California takes place in Pasadena this weekend when UCLA hosts Cal. The Golden Bears have lost two straight after starting the season with three wins. UCLA has lost two in a row also after their second half collapse at home against Oregon. The Bruins are getting a field goal in the Rose Bowl.
Bo Pelini has the Nebraska faithful thinking big things in 2009 after their decisive win at Missouri last Thursday. The Huskers face another challenge when Texas Tech brings their aerial attack to Lincoln. Back up Red Raider QB Sam Sheffield lit up the Kansas State Wildcats for 490 yards and seven touchdowns. Tech is a 10 point dog.
Fourth ranked Virginia Tech faces a stern challenge at Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets picked up a key road win at Florida State a week ago and enter the ACC match-up with a 3-1 conference record. Virginia Tech has won four of the last five in this series and will need to contain the triple option attack to pull off the road win. The Hokies are favored by 3.5.
Florida passed their first big road test of the season with their gritty win at LSU. The Gators now return home to square off against an explosive Arkansas team. Razorback QB Ryan Mallett has been putting up large numbers, but has struggled against a secondary that over matches his receivers. Florida is giving up 24 points in the Swamp.
Stanford will look to bounce back after they were taken to the woodshed at Oregon State last Saturday. Arizona will host the Cardinal and are most likely still licking their wounds after a fluke interception cost them the game at Washington. The Wildcats are 5 point favorites.
