Week 7 College Football Score Predictions
Written October 15, 2009 by Kyle Hunter
#2 Texas and #18 Oklahoma face off in the Red River Shootout this Saturday at noon eastern time. This should be another great football game between these two college football powers. The Longhorns haven’t looked great of late, but they should be ultra motivated in this one and Oklahoma’s injury problems will hurt them in this game. Prediction: Texas 31 Oklahoma 21
#5 USC travels to South Bend to take on the #25 Fighting Irish of Notre Dame this Saturday. USC has a great offensive line that should allow Joe McKnight to run wild against a below par defense. Notre Dame will have their hands full in this one. USC is a 10 point favorite in this game according to the most recent college football odds. Prediction: USC 35 Notre Dame 21
#1 Florida hosts Arkansas in a game between two teams coming off big wins. The Gators defense has stepped up in a huge way this year, and even though Arkansas has a great offense they should have plenty of trouble moving it against the Gators. Prediction: Florida 41 Arkansas 14
#4 Virginia Tech travels to #20 Georgia Tech in a game that is being overlooked by many, but it should be great one. Georgia Tech is all about running the option, so it is up to the Hokies defense to stop them from running the ball and make Josh Nesbitt be a passer. I think they will do it just enough to squeak by in this one. Prediction: Virginia Tech 27 Georgia Tech 24

#3 Alabama hosts #22 South Carolina as Nick Saban and Steve Spurrier collide. The Crimson Tide have been very impressive of late with a very stingy defense and a surprisingly strong offense. Spurrier’s crew will probably be in over their head in this one. Prediction: Alabama 38 South Carolina 17
#7 Ohio State heads to Purdue in a Big Ten conference battle this weekend. The offense is yet to get clicking for the Buckeyes, but the defense is one of the best in the country. The defense of the Buckeyes should be swarming around in this one. Prediction: Ohio State 31 Purdue 14
#12 Iowa faces a huge test this weekend as they head to Wisconsin to take on the Badgers. Iowa is undefeated, but Wisconsin plays a style of football that makes them tough to matchup with. John Clay and Wisconsin may well end the Hawkeyes unbeaten streak here, especially if they can keep their turnovers to a minimum. Prediction: Wisconsin 24 Iowa 21
#13 Penn State is one of the biggest unknowns in college football. This weekend they host Minnesota in what could be a tricky matchup for Penn State. Penn State should win because of their running game and defense, but this one may be closer than most expect. Prediction: Penn State 28 Minnesota 17
A big matchup in the Big 12 this weekend pits #24 Missouri against #14 Oklahoma State. There should be plenty of offense in this one, but Oklahoma State has the deeper team and the ability to run the ball more effectively. Prediction: Oklahoma State 34 Missouri 24
#8 TCU hosts Colorado State as the Horned Frogs try to stay in the BCS picture. TCU’s defense is a great unit and they will make life miserable for the Rams offense. TCU is a team to keep an eye on. Prediction: TCU 35 Colorado State 10
In Thursday night’s big game on ESPN #9 Cincinnati goes to South Florida to face the #21 Bulls. Cincinnati has a great leader in Tony Pike and their offense can really put points on the board. South Florida will be amped up for this one, but I think the Bearcats have more talent. Prediction: Cincinnati 28 South Florida 21
