Sunday October 23, 2011

1:00 PM ET |  Bears at Bucs (Bears -1, O/U 43) - This one is going in London, so it’s basically a road game for both teams.  Both teams have struggled on the road this year and I don’t really see a clear edge.  The Under does look tempting, however.

1:00 PM ET |  Redskins at Panthers (Panthers -3, O/U 44) - Carolina was favored by 3 against Jacksonville at home.  It seems odd that they are also three-point favorites at home against the Redskins, but Washington is having some turmoil at QB, so I guess it’s okay.

1:00 PM ET |  Chargers at Jets (Chargers -2, O/U 43.5)  - At first glance this line was a little shocking – the Jets being home dogs, but then you look at how the Jets have really played this year and it’s really not that shocking.

1:00 PM ET |  Seahawks at Browns (Browns -3, O/U 40) - This is set up to be an ugly game.  Both teams have struggled on both sides of the ball.  This is one I won’t be wagering on for sure.

1:00 PM ET |  Texans at Titans (Titans -3, O/U 44) -  The injuries the Texans have suffered this year may be too much for them to overcome.  Tennessee is coming off of a bye and the Titans have been much better than anyone expected.

1:00 PM ET |  Broncos at Dolphins (Dolphins -1.5, O/U 42.5) - It looks like Tim Tebow will get the start for Denver in somewhat of a homecoming for him back in Florida.  The Dolphins are leading the “Suck for Luck” sweepstakes right now, but I guarantee you these players still want to win football games.

1:00 PM ET |  Falcons at Lions (Lions -4, O/U 48) -  Atlanta is off to a disappointing start for a team that was supposed to contend the Green Bay Packers for the top spot in the NFC.  Meanwhile, the Lions are coming off of an emotional loss and will be trying to get back on track fast with back-to-back road games following their current home stand.

4:05 PM ET |  Chiefs at Raiders (Raiders -3, O/U 42) – Carson Palmer makes his debut for Oakland.  His arrival has caused the line to move already, though I’m not convinced he will be ready to function at a high level being thrown into the fire like he has been.  If the spread keeps moving up  (to six or so ) I would consider the Chiefs a solid play this week.

4:05 PM ET |  Steelers at Cardinals (Steelers -3.5, O/U 42) – Pittsburgh hasn’t looked good in several of their games this year, but the Cardinals are awful and I was really surprised by this line.  The smart money here looks like it should go on the Steelers, but Arizona is coming off of a bye and home teams typically perform well in this situation.

4:15 PM ET |  Rams at Cowboys (Cowboys -11, O/U 44) – The Rams haven’t really been close in any of their games this year.  I think Dallas will take this opportunity to see just how well they can perform against an inferior opponent.

4:15 PM ET |  Packers at Vikings (Packers -7.5, O/U 47) -  The Packers look unstoppable right now, while the Vikings are in a bit of a rebuilding mode.  It’s hard not to ride the Packers this year until they don’t cover a spread.

8:20 PM ET |  Colts at Saints (Saints -14, O/U 48) – This set up to be a great rematch of the Super Bowl from two years ago, but no Peyton Manning makes this one of the least attractive games to watch (or bet) this Sunday.

Monday October 24, 2011

8:30 PM ET |  Ravens at Jags (Ravens -7.5, O/U 38.5) – The Jags don’t do much well and the Ravens have been doing everything right lately.  This seems like a no-brainer to take Baltimore, but they are on the road and Jacksonville kept their game close at Pittsburgh last week.
