Week 9 NFL Odds

Written November 5, 2009 by Jack Jones

The Baltimore Ravens will look to even the season series against division foe Cincinnati this weekend on the road. Carson Palmer took over in the second half in the first meeting as the Bengals picked up a huge road win. A loss here would drop Baltimore to 4-4 and a full two games behind Cincy. Cincinnati is getting 3 points at home with a total set at 43.5

Peyton Manning and the Colts host an explosive Houston Texans team this Sunday. Texan QB Matt Schaub has done his best Manning impression through eight games with a wide variety of offensive weapons. He will go up against a defense that ranks first in the NFL in points allowed. Indy is a 9 point favorite at Lucas Oil Field with an over/under of 48 according to our latest NFL betting lines.

Arizona has been up and down all year and Kurt Warner’s five interception performance against the Panthers was definitely a low. The Bears defense is no joke and will turn the ball over in a hurry if you give them a chance. Chicago QB Jay Cutler hasn’t exactly taken great care of the ball either on his end so expect the team that turns turnovers into the most points to get the W. The Cardinals are getting 3 points with a total set at 44.5

Bill Belicheck will have to come up with a scheme to stop the Wildcat running attack of the resurgent Miami Dolphins. The Wildcat trend started when an over matched Miami team used it to run all over the Patriots in the past. New England’s defense is much faster now though and still has the anchor in the middle with DT Vince Wolfork. Miami is getting 10.5 points at Gillette Stadium with an o/u set at 46.5

The Saints keep rolling along undefeated even though their last two outings have been close calls. Carolina marches to town coming off their biggest win of the season at Arizona. Have the Panthers turned things around for good? If they can pull of the road upset, look for Carolina to make a late season run. The Panthers are getting 13.5 points with a total set at 52.  Cash in on a 10% unlimited deposit with Bodog that you can use to bet the NFL this upcoming season.

Two of the bigger disappointments in the NFL collide when San Diego makes the cross country trip to battle the Giants. The media was quick to say the G-men would bounce back after getting blitzed at New Orleans, but we are still waiting for that to happen. The Chargers need to find some chemistry and get their running game back on track. New York is a 4 point favorite with the points set at 47.5

Dallas seems ready to break into the elite class of teams in the league after three wins in a row. The Eagles will have something to say about that against their division rival. Tony Romo is receiving all the praise in the world now that the Boys have righted the ship, but the schedule hasn’t been the toughest and two of the last three were at home. Philly is a 3 point favorite with an over/under set for 47.5

Other games of note:

Steelers -3 @ Broncos

Redskins +10 @ Falcons

Packers -10 @ Buccaneers
